Re: Cisco 887 Config for FTTP
Thanks oldmate800, I have a Cisco 877W, (yes 877W not 887), however your config I think will be an excellent start to configuring my 877W, so thanks! The key thing is configuring fe0 as a WAN PPPoE port. I noticed you used a MTU of 1492, Exetel support told me 1300, do you have any information on wh...

PPPoE & /29 fixed IP configuration
I'ved ordered a /29 network range. Now I've been told this range is in addition to my existing PPPoE login on my ADSL2+ service. How do I configure my NetComm NB6Plus4W to work with the PPPoE & /29 network range services. Currently the NB6Plus4W is in bridge mode & the PPPoE is done by a ClarkConnec...

Re: PSTN to VoIP porting additional numbers
Thanks Jason, That's sounding good, but what simple solutions can I use to fax from a fax machine? Email it the way to go, but scanning to PC/email is complicated with all the machines I've played with. I've yet to see a solution on a $400 or so multifunction device that replicates the simplicity of...

Re: PSTN to VoIP porting additional numbers
Thanks Jason, but I'm really more interested in *receiving* faxes.JasonM wrote:Exetel offers email to fax, which will send an email as a fax.

PSTN to VoIP porting additional numbers
I have a client with 2 numbers they wish to port to VoIP when ordering a Naked ADSL2+ service.
02-9482-5353 Voice
02-9482-5354 Fax
1)
Can a naked ADSL2+ service be ordered on 02-9482-5353 & the additional 5354 number be ported too?
2)
Does Exetel VoIP support fax?

Re: How to configure additional IPs
Thanks Jason, Unfortunately your response didn't answer my questions sufficiently. Do I lose my current 220.233.94.123 & get 2 new IPs? This would effectively mean I only get 2 usable IPs & not 3 as I mentioned. I have reverse DNS on 220.233.94.123 will that get migrated to 1 of the new IPs at no ad...

How to configure additional IPs
Howdy,
I've just ordered a /30 subnet range.
1)
I currently have 220.233.94.123, will I keep that & get 2 additional usable IPs, meaning I have a total of 3 usable IPs?
2)
How do I configure for these additional IPs?

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
All the Exetel services I manage are used for business. This would mean more off-peak time during business hours.
Yes, it would be A Good Idea (tm).

Re: Routed SMS2email - receive without Virtual Mobile number
Hi, Unfortunately, Traitel's SMS service operates differently to that of Exetel and are able to offer such a function. I would assume that they have direct connections to each main telecommunication network within Australia that allows them to receive unique identifiers. This would also explain the...

Re: Routed SMS2email - receive without Virtual Mobile number
This can be done, each SMS has a unique identifier, (similar to email) so the unique identifier can be used to route the SMS back. The SMS recipient *must* use the reply function on their mobile for this to work. They cannot use the number the SMS supposedly comes from. http://www.traitel.com.au has...

Direct login URL?
Howdy,
Is there a direct URL that can include the username & password for logging in?
e.g.
https://www.exetel.com.au/login/?userna ... xxxxxxxxxx

Re: Fax Confirmation Emails
That makes more sense, though the filename when emailed is ignored completed and not stored. Only the file type is what is parsed and used. The previous mentioned description system is still on the cards for implementation. As soon as development time is available, I'll implement it as it seems to ...

NB6 goes to sleep after 1-2days
Howdy, I've got a NB6 v3.29u firmware which looks after a Windows SBS 2003 Server running PPTP server. The modem seems to run out of resources after 1-2days. It is no longer accessable via the LAN web interface. A power-cycle seems to fix it. I've got 5 NB6Plus4W units which work really well, but I ...
