International Roaming Charges to Fall?
Optus is about to drop their international roaming charges sometime this month - both reducing the number of zones from 5 to 2 and significantly reducing costs of both phone calls AND data (according to newspaper reports data for example down from $20 per MB to 50c per MB). Will Exetel be passing on...

Re: Please Use This Thread To Advise Exetel Of Typos/Errors
There's an incorrect link in the Mobil FAQ page, relating to International Roaming. In the section..... =========================================== What are the charges for Making and Receiving Calls and SMS’ while global roaming? Global roaming charges for both making and receiving calls and SMS’ a...

Re: Calling AU from the US
Thanks Remosha, exactly what I wanted.
I did look for this page but couldn't find it from any menu due to an incorrect link on the http://www.exetel.com.au/mobile_faq.php page.
I've posted a message in the Please Use This Thread To Advise Exetel Of Typos/Errors thread.

Calling AU from the US
I can see a list of international rates for mobile use, eg US 29c per minute, but I guess that's AU->US. Where can I find how much it's going to cost me to use my Exetel-sim equipped mobile phone in the US to call and text both US and AU numbers. Do 1-800 numbers in the US cost me if I'm in the US? ...

Re: Telephone not working, ADSL2 still functional
Thanks, Exetel - all fixed: dial tone and voice is back.
And wow! Bonus! ADSL speed has now doubled: never been over 1000kB/sec before!

Re: Telephone not working, ADSL2 still functional
Thanks, Dazzled, your post makes all this much clearer. You haven't missed any modem test. At this point, don't worry about finding an internet fault; you have a phone fault for your phone provider to attend to.

Re: Telephone not working, ADSL2 still functional
We've been afflicted with this same problem starting today and have reported it to Exetel Support. There has been NO change to the infrastructure in our home for over 5 years except a Billion 7300 modem was replaced with a Billion 7800 modem approximately 12 months ago. Telephone and ADSL through Ex...

Re: Slow activation
Another very slow activation problem. I've ported another number over from another Optus reseller to Exetel on the M15 plan - for a business colleague. I received the sim on Friday, 2/11/2012 (8 days ago) and immediately "activated" it on the website. When the number still hadn't ported over yesterd...

Re: Voicemail "Activated" but it isn't
A suggestion, if I may.....
Perhaps KavindaS's explanation (clear and concise as it is) could be added to the standard "Completion of your Mobile Service - 04nnnnnnnn)" email when a new mobile service is activated.

Re: Voicemail "Activated" but it isn't
Thanks Dazzled and Kavindas. When the mobiles were activated on Exetel, an SMS appeared with a pin to use for voicemail. We followed the instructions once we dialled 321 and from memory, pressed "4" and the Optus voice-lady told us the service was activated (we've had Optus mobiles for about 10-12 y...

Re: Voicemail "Activated" but it isn't
Sorry, perhaps I should have said MOBILE phone numbers, but as I was posting in the Mobile Services section, I thought that was redundant.

Voicemail "Activated" but it isn't
We've successfully ported our phone numbers over to Exetel and we thought we'd set up our Voicemail (recording our name, message and "activating" our voicemails). However, whenever someone calls us and the phone is unanswered, the Optus lady answers with "the number you've called is unavailable, lea...

Re: Slow activation
I activated a mobile Optus -> Exetel service at about 4pm Friday and the new service likewise hasn't started some 33 business hours later (4hr Fri + 12hr Mon + 12hr Tue + 5hr Wed = 33); the old SIM is still active. As per website, I emailed provisioning yesterday afternoon but have yet to receive a ...

Re: ADSL only -> ADSL + Telephone
Well, the Move Service has been an unmitigated disaster. I scheduled a move service for Wed 25/7 (in order to move my ADSL from one number to another at my workplace to get it away from a number in rotary) so that I could port it to Exetel. On Thursday, 26/7 at 2.53pm, I received notification from E...
