It would be nice to see the network status page (http://www.exetel.com.au/a_network.php) updated with problems like this (and updated when the issues resolved). Or is that page no longer used to update network status?

And then just when everything was looking good again, i was not receiving a busy tone again last night. My modem / voip gateway has not lost power for a few weeks and the busy tone has come and gone. Almost feels like something is lost in the creation of the connection via the voip proxy just like H...

Hey Guys,
I noticed the other night that busy tones appear to be working as expected again.

On a side note I now have to put an 02 in front of local numbers, but I can fix that with the dialplan.

Cheers Exetel.

I do not have a DID, my voip number is 0932xxxx. I have tried a factory reset on my modem (after this problem started), but it made no difference. I have a voip ring tone with long toot signal. not busy dial tone. Hmmm. Are you not saying your not receiving a not busy tone? The problem I am getting ...

I am using a NetComm NB9W supplied by exetel. It was working fine before I went away for xmas. There have been no firmware update or changes on the modem. I dont have a soft phone setup to check with.

I only use softphones when I need video support as I have found softphones have many variables indeed too. I have had great success with using Ekiga for Linux, but have only used it with the ekiga.net service, not with exetel's voip service. I have also found better call reliability if I connect my ...

Busy tone not being detected?

Hey Guys,
I have noticed that when dialing landline numbers that are engaged, I still get a ringing tone and cannot tell if dialed number is engaged or just ignoring me.
I get a busy tone when using PSTN.
Is this a know issue yet?

I would second this request. Or at least some way of making calls directly between two exetel voip clients, so that I can call family that I have convinced to join exetel for adsl and voip for free. Not that it's costing me that much anyway, but having that support would be even better.

For what it's worth, if all it required of me as an end user is to put in a dd-wrt router (either replacing my existing adsl modem or just plugging in the back), Then I'm all for it. The advantages i'd see is if this would then allow me to use other's hotspots and have the usage taken out of my acco...
