Re: New ADSL1 Plans

Is there a reason new users can sign up for unlimited, but churn users cannot? I thought the signup fee and the churn fee were both at/near cost.

Re: Back To The Future?

Just noticed 1.5mbps and lower plans are showing up as N/A for offpeak so i assume that means you have gone unlimited on them. Amazing progress for broadband when others are still going backwards, come so far from 11months ago when people who did a little to much in offpeak got asked to leave, can w...

Personally i will always opt for paying to stay unshaped, but i think this is a great idea it will encourage people who previously wouldn't join due to fear of excess fees to come on board.

Shaping would be ok, but 64kbps makes games rather unenjoyable same for web surfing.

Sorry i didnt give all the details.

The bad latency starts as soon as offpeak does, and ends once peak time starts.

There's no difference, I've tested Blackrock Twisting Nether and frostmourne.

Running 1.5mbps in regional victoria.

Off peak wow latency

Since the first of april, I have had terrible latency in WoW during offpeak times. Latency in game hovers at around 800ms, and also appears to spike badly every few minutes. I cannot back this up with tracerts as http/icmp traffic is 100% fine during this time. As soon as offpeak ends my latency is ...

I hadn't even thought of a prepaid credit card that might be the perfect thing.
Thanks for all the suggestions :)

yeah I've tried explaining it like that. He has the old mentality that telling anyone your CC number will result in fraud, and that online banking is highly unsafe.

Yet he thinks he is 100% safe using it in shops, guess some people are just very set in their ways.

Payment by cheque?

I have a relative who absolutely refuses to disclose his bank details or credit card details to anyone, but he wants dsl on for the grand kids. I've been told some isps will accept cheques if you pay quarterly in advance etc, I'm wondering if that's the case with Exetel by any chance? Sorry if this ...

I can see the upside of an idea like this, but what about people who only want internet. I dont use a mobile phone, and i make less than 5 calls per week. A change to this scheme would see me go from 72gb total on 1500/256 down to 18.5gb for the same price. I understand your making a very small prof...

Private tracker torrents will usually contain a hash value which is specific to your IP address anyway, so are not useful for trying to diagnose this issue. Besides, it may even be too late to hit the cache with that torrent anymore. Torrents only stay in the P2P cache for a few days, so if you wan...
