Re: New OCV plan: phone calls being charged...a temporary is

I and my brother are both on new OCV plans. I note that we also have charges showing against wireline calls, although initially each call had a "negation" call with an equal but negative charge. Now the negation calls are not showing. I have emailed billing requesting confirmation that the charges w...

LG T320 internet settings

My Dad has just bought the above phone, and it is on the Exetel (Optus) $19 (or thereabouts) "cap", with 200MB of data. It is 3G enabled, and I am trying to set it up so he can browse and email. The user manual that came with it is very primitive, and not much help. I have been unable to get it to w...

Re: Price Increase For Out Of Contract Customers - Continued

Technically speaking you'd be right. However the OCV plans have the ability to make a 'dormant' PSTN active again and vice versa. I know its different from the product term in market. Paul, I think you need to find a new name for the OCV plans, because the "naked" term is throwing a lot of people. ...

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

This email to existing customers out of contract has to be the most confusing directive ever given by Exetel. I have no problem with Exetel staying afloat (and I hope they do) by charging whatever they need to, but after trawling through the (last count) 26 pages of this thread, I am more confused t...

ADSL2 With Full Telephone Line And Mobile cap- questions

These questions have probably been answered before, but I cannot readily find them. I currently have Exetel ADSL2 with BYO line, + voip + 3x HSPA + email to fax. If I wish to switch to ADSL2 with full Telephone line and Mobile cap, do I have to cancel my existing ADSL service to do so? (i.e. is it j...

Re: Does Exetel still owe you your $200 global roaming refun

I can report similar experiences with deactivation of mobile roaming. On the first occasion I deactivated, I was actually billed $200 a second time, and it took several emails and many weeks before I got my $400 back. Exetel promises to refund it were NOT folowed up promptly. ON the second occasion ...

Re: Voip Call Connect Number Format

For security reasons we don't allow international numbers to be accepted in call connect feature. Only allow any Australian landlines or mobile for this feature. is that in the FAQ's, probably should be if it's not already, a valid decision for obvious reasons but still need to make sure it's known...

Re: Voip Call Connect Number Format

OK, so valid destinations should be:
073xxxxxxx and 0011855xxxxxxxxx
- but the web page still says the international number (0011855xxxxxx) is invalid

Re: Voip Call Connect Number Format

It seems that the Call Connect doesn't really like international numbers- Cambodia is a reproducible one. Either Exetel doesn't support international calling, or the Call Connect programming has a programming defect. 61731xxxxxx to 61732xxxxxx, the numbers are accepted, but no call is received at De...

Re: Voip Call Connect Number Format

OK

Sorry Dazzled & Jokiin.

I made a mistake in my examples.

The "version 2" didn't work- i.e. number format reported as incorrect.

Dazzled wrote:I agree it wouldn't hurt to add a note. As a general rule, VoIP calls are dialled in the same way as PSTN phone calls (version number 2).
Pardon my ignorance Dazzled, but what is "Version number 2"?

It would also be good if the rule was specific rather than general.

Voip Call Connect Number Format

Can anyone tell me the full format for Call Connect via the web interface? I want to include an international destination (Cambodia) as one of the call destinations. I have tried 6173xxxxxxx and 855xxxxxxxxx as destinations. The numbers are accepted by the webpage, but the call is not connected. I h...

Yes, but even when the problem is existent, the correct namserver IP's show up in the ip config, so I would expect that manually entering them would make no difference.

Re: Possible HSPA issue.

Thanks jokin & cubic for your replies. When using the phone on its own, there is never a problem, regardless of time or location. When I connect my laptop to the internet, using the phone as a modem, is when the problem arises. I suspect it may be location specific. Today I am trying it from home an...

Re: Possible HSPA issue.

NOTE - the HSPA works from my mobile (on my mobile) Just noticed this, affected my mobile browsing as well. Edit: All fixed now :D I realize your posts are rather old now, but what was your fix? I have similar probs with a Nokia E66. Can browse anything from the phone, but when used as a modem, onl...
