Re: Can anyone successfully watch the USOpen videos?

try setting your DNS back to the exetel default and see if that helps. I have been trying alternate dns myself to try and troubleshoot/work around speed and connectivity issues, but at the moment with the speed issues on ADSL2+ it isn't helping. You should be being routed to the exetel cache, so I t...

ADSL2+ Speed through the floor

Guys, I would appreciate it if someone could reset my port or check my line profile or something.... Over the past 2-3 weeks my ADSL2+ speed has got substantially slower to the point where it's really not usable for anything related to broadband. I have raised a support ticket. A few observations: 1...

Re: Device Blocking connection to Akami servers

Hi Jason. The issue is currently (as in right now) present. I am pinging 220.233.2.168,169 and 170 All pings to these addresses lose 100% of packets. no response at all. I have no idea what device this is (58.96.1.57) but can I please suggest some sort of logging or packet inspection might be approp...

Re: DNS Problem

unfortunately this issue is intermittent in nature, but consistent in relation to the router in question. Fortunately Jing W seems to have a handle on the reason for this behaviour - broken BGP. Now all I can do is hope it can be fixed or my daily fix of ABC.NET.AU will be hard to come by... For now...

Re: DNS Problem

Hi. glad to see that we are starting to get to the bottom of this. Unfortunately, it appears that the use of the term 'resolved' may be somewhat subjective in this context. Doesn't resemble 'fixed' from my end anyway... [medwards@phones ~]$ date;traceroute http://www.abc.net.au Fri Aug 29 20:10:00 E...

Re: DNS Problem

Andrew, I'm back experiencing the same issue again, with the same sites. (It's been happening quite regularly but I have been in and out of state with work so havn't been able to deal with it). The symptoms are the same as before - any attempt to contact www.abc.net.au and/or maps.google.com ends in...

Re: DNS Problem

update.

I have reset modem and it is now running in ADSL2+ mode. It was previously running in ADSL mode. (I get better connectivity speeds with ADSL than I do with ADSL2+).
Changing back to ADSL2+ has brought these two sites back for me...

cheers,

Mark.

Re: DNS Problem

Have reset my modem and am connecting at ADSL2+ now. This appears to have brought both maps.google.com and www.abc.net.au back online, although I am one of these lucky customers that gets better performance/speed on ADSL connection than I do when connecting with ADSL2+... Swings and roundabouts... I...

Re: DNS Problem

HI. I am experiencing the same issue.

maps.google.com and www.abc.net.au resolve to 220.233.3.168 and .169

both IP addresses are, as of this moment, unpingable from my account (220.233.83.72)

If anyone is able to assist with this, it would brighten my day up.

cheers,

Mark.

Suggestion

Exetel, it appears to me, has always been a company that primarily likes to promote itself to those "in the know". I would like to suggest that a good way of improving local support for internet users is perhaps to have a network of local support providers - people who might have some time to visit ...
