Re: no outbound SMS, port optus/prepaid to exetel value
Given my irritation with people who raise issues in the forum and don't close them out, here is the resolution. Got a request from optus to try another handset. Totally irrelevant in my opinion since the SMS was obviously getting to Optus, and they were bouncing it with a quota issue. However, in th...

Re: no outbound SMS, port optus/prepaid to exetel value
Got a message in response to this thread, but nothing since, and nearly a week has gone by.
Haven't seen action from exetel that would make me change my customer service rating, no contact for a week is still pathetic.
Seems like I should be getting a service credit too.

no outbound SMS, port optus/prepaid to exetel value
I ported my number to exetel value plan last week from optus/prepaid. Voice came over first day, data the second day, and I can receive SMS. Sending SMS, however results in a SMS from Optus saying I am out of quota for that message type. Since Exetel Value has unlimited SMS/MMS, this seems unlikely....

Re: Global Roaming & Members Facilities
Maybe exetel should do some testing of the enable/disable like I did, about 5 minutes apart, and let us know how you go, maybe you can replicate the results, and thus have something to work on, rather than just suggesting I let you know next time I am inconvenienced by it breaking.

Re: Global Roaming & Members Facilities
We now have a new members facility, and a new implimentation of global roaming control, with both less and more options. For my purposes, the new control web page fails miserably on two fronts. 1. The scheduling option as disappeared. Whereas previously I was able to schedule GR enable/disable 2 hou...

Re: Mobile Plan Gap
I too have been disappointed with the current crop of mobile plans offered by Exetel, they were quite an expensive jump from previous plans. The previous crop I was happy to recommend to friends. I've have had to recommend a competitors $19.99 plan, which is currently the best fit to my older Exetel...

Re: 3G Data services using Sony Xperia Z (poor student)
maybe you are just too far away from the nearest optus mobile tower? You could just be a high contention area with too many other people trying to use the Optus Mobile service. Have you tried another phone maybe it has better reception? Have you tried locking down the phone from 3G/HSPA to 3G/UTMS o...

Re: New Optus NAT Layer?
I logged ticket 5816062 to that effect on 30-Oct-2012. If you have been protected until now, I guess you have either been lucky, or haven't looked? Seems like half an internet connection is the only game in town with Optus standard plans. It is a PITA, but hardly surprising given the scarcity of IPV...

Re: optus mobile inbound internet access broken
Thanks, saw to response from Exetel.
This morning the situation is worse, as optus has allocated a 10.0.0.0/8 address to the HSPA interface.

optus mobile inbound internet access broken
I just logged ticket 5816062 with the Exetel helpdesk, but wondered if anyone else has seen the following change in behaviour on an Optus Mobile plan, I'm using Z15, or can report working inbound ssh, or general inbound tcp. Ticket: Inbound ssh access to my android phone has stopped working when usi...

I'm sure the fine print said "Subject to change without notice", also a possiblity that another barrel needed more pork elsewhere.

+1, in fact reduced information density is a negative.techoff2 wrote:The new look page provides no useful information for me.
It has a pretty look but I still require an itemised list.
Sometimes change is not needed.

Re: does exetel provide mobile phone updates
If you want an OTA update, why not find a mate with an Optus plan, and swap the SIM temporarily, do the update, then swap back. Or get a $2 SIM, and a days data, and do the OTA that way. Or do as suggested above, don't use OTA, download one of the many stock ROMS, and upgrade with Kies, Odin or Heim...

Callingcard VOIP mapping indial #s to outdial #s
I'ved been a frustrated VOIP users for a few years, across multiple providors. The call quality has been poor, I think becuase of congested backhaul. Certainly something that I would like to see is a VOIP connection debugging tool, however I'm not holding my breath. After Exetel started requiring pa...

ADSL plan change Telstra to AAPT
My members facilities is showing a plan change option from my existing Telstra ADSL2 plan to an AAPT ADSL2 plan. However, when I look at adsl2exchanges.com.au, it shows the exchange only has Telstra DSLAMs. Are there really AAPT DSLAMS in MERE? Or is the AAPT service provisioned using the Telstra DS...
