Re: New ADSL2+ plans for existing customers

Hello. Mostly happy Exetel customer since Jan 2006. Exetel has been slipping in value over the last few years (for example, the introduction of the $5pm VoIP service charge) and 10Gb/m is no longer enough for my family. The plans Exetel is offering to new customers would satisfy me just fine, but as...

Re: SIM hasn't arrived yet

Hello,

I haven't received my SIM yet (you sent it yesterday). But I notice in my member's facility, that it says I've used 23 out of 100 Mb. How can I use data without a SIM?

Can you check this please, and tell me why it's not 0? Is this how "pro-rata" in the first month is done?

Thank you,

M.

No need to answer: The Exetel status page says it wasn't shipped until today.

Thank you for not sending my SIM, and thank you for lying to me last week that it had been sent. <bad mood>

Re: SIM hasn't arrived yet

Hello CapnKernel Please PM me your service number in order to check the status of the SIM card and provide you with an update. I PMed, and now I have received an SMS to my mobile, and an email with instructions on getting started. Thank you. Does this mean that my HSPA request wasn't looked at unti...

SIM hasn't arrived yet

Hello, I changed ADSL plans on the 10th of June so I could get the no-monthly-fee HSPA service. Last Friday I was told by an Exetel staff member that the SIM had been posted to me. It's now Wednesday, and I haven't received the SIM yet. Can someone look into this please? As an aside, I'd like to hav...

Re: Long Nosed Potoroo/Spotted Tail Quoll Updates

I am, through Exetel, a voluntary donor to the Southern Ark project.

Is Exetel still sponsoring this project?

Hello Exetel people,

No-one has replied to this as yet, but I would still like to know if this is possible.

Thank you.

Bounce someone to voicemail?

Hello, A good 95% of the calls to my VoIP number are for my wife. When I've answered a call and discovered it's for her (but she's not around), is it possible to bump the caller to voicemail, so they can leave a message for her? When I ring my own number, it goes to voicemail (good), but when I try ...

Re: Intermittent incoming calls: please help

What you describe happened to me last night. I plugged in a second ATA behind an ADSL modem Thanks for your comment Toast. I've never used or tried a second ATA. (it was the first residential ADSL modem sold in Australia by Telstra when it came out in 1999? or 2000?). I remember those modems. when ...

Re: Intermittent incoming calls: please help

I was able to make a call from my mobile to home. I will keep testing today to check the reliability. ok let us know how you get on, I've had a quick look at your config and there's a couple of minor things that I would change but they're not dealbreakers, I haven't had a problem today. What would ...

No possibility at all, as I have only ever used a hardware ATA.

Re: Intermittent incoming calls: please help

My understanding is that if one's ATA is registered with the VoIP provider, it's not necessary to open port 5060, as signalling will be done over the registered connection. Yes it's UDP, but the timeout on NATted UDP connections in my modem is longer than the amount of time between registrations, s...
