Re: Twitch.tv Unwatchable Due to Extreme Lag

This could be very likely due to the issues within overseas links. We highly regret any inconvenience caused to you as the matter is beyond our control. Why does my friend on TPG not have this problem, at all? The internet is a global resource and the majority of useful content exists outside of Au...

Re: So Telstra just sent us a letter about ADSL2+ being enab

If a request to change your plan to AAPT/Optus fails, your current plan will remain the same, HOWEVER as we are withdrawing your current plan anyway, you cannot keep it. Oh, no need to inform me. I know quite well how the system works. Perhaps, HOWEVER you might inform Fahim S before he advises ano...

Re: So Telstra just sent us a letter about ADSL2+ being enab

Your plan no longer exists, you cannot keep it, no user is able to. If your service qualification doesn't go through , you won't be any fee and it'll not impact your existing service . So, terrible English aside , what Fahim S was trying to say, by "not impacting your existing service" he means yes...

Re: Twitch.tv Unwatchable Due to Extreme Lag

I can not see any significant issue with the results. Could you please check and let me know whether you are still experiencing any latency with this site. Yes. First thing I did when I turned on my computer this morning is go to Twitch.tv and tried to watch several different streams for different ...

Twitch.tv Unwatchable Due to Extreme Lag

Recently I have experienced a degradation of service quality while trying to watch streams on Twitch.tv. It has only been the last month or so (since The International 2 Dota 2 tournament). While watching the Dota 2 International 2 I was able to have all four 1080p+ streams open concurrently; the ma...

Re: Unplanned outage NSW 13/09/2010.

Would this affect QLD users too? About 15mins ago every browser page I tried to refresh timed out. I managed to get facebook to open just then, but it dropped out almost immediately. I'm on the MYDE exchange. A ping test via User Facilities failed also. Thanks.

Re: No Internet Except Exetel (BNE)

Looks like it's just on the standard website based ports too as Steam is still working, as are chat progs like Hotmail and ICQ (I can chat to my OS friends). [EDIT: aaaaaand it's back up lol. Today has been epic fail. The power went out in my corner of Maroochydore this morning so I spent all day re...

Just now? Like as of a couple of minutes ago? Me too. Just went to refresh my Hotmail page and it failed miserably.

Re: Exetel Usage Block? (and other issues)

You need to email Exetel to get it removed , as it stays with your account, regardless of what plan(s) you change to. After it is removed, you will be on the new shaping/excess charge system. That's absolutely laughable. So a grandfathered plan STILL carries its grandfathered shaping/excess system ...

Re: Exetel Usage Block? (and other issues)

Did you ever agree to shaping/excess in the past? If you did it carries forward, and needs to be cancelled for your current arrangement. Write to residentialsupport@exetel.com.au to have it permanently cancelled. I'm not quite sure what you mean, or exactly how it applies to my problem that, all of...

Exetel Usage Block? (and other issues)

FIRST ISSUE So my power just went off a couple of hours ago and when it came back on I was greeted with the Exetel Usage Block page. This is rather mystifying as as far as I was aware my plan tells me that I should be only shaped. The default setting for your ADSL plan is to allow you to be "shaped...

Regular Net Traffic is Being Deprioritised.

I am adding my complaints to the slow bandwidth wagon and will launch a support ticket immediately after this post. My RSS reader alerted me to the fact the latest epidode of HDNation (Free and perfectly legal HTTP download) and a TekZilla Daily clip from Revision3 were available. I get the 720p30fp...

Re: Client Banning IP's Since Migrating to New Plan.

Ok I tried a small test torrent (500mb) with a folder on the local C: drive of the server and didn't get any banned IP's for that session so it's possible the problem could be the Netgear SAN. Perhaps once a disk on the SAN reaches a certain capacity the track speed of the inner most parts is not su...

Re: Client Banning IP's Since Migrating to New Plan.

I use Vuze (Azureus) on both a Windows XP SP3 box and a Windows Server 2003 blade server. I initially thought the problem was specific to the server (Compaq Proliant DL360 G2, 4GB ECC RAM) until I attempted a download on the XP machine (Athlon64 3000+, 2GB GeIL) and the results were the same; many b...
