Re: ADSL to NBN change

Hi, Thanks for the reply. It sounds like traffic would have to relay through multiple Exetel servers. Maybe the best approach will be to get the NBN service running, get a static IP, get users to change (some access via IP address rather than domain name), and then cancel my ADSL service after say o...

Re: ADSL to NBN change

Hi, I'm not talking about the fibre service I already have. This is up and running fine and at a different location. I'm talking about my original ADSL and phone service that is still operational. I can PM the service numbers if this will avoid any confusion. The IP address for this ADSL service is ...

Re: Can I slow to H268A ports ?

Hi,

Thanks for your assistance here. I'm quite impressed with this router now and want to persevere with it rather than try another. I like its IPv6 capabilities.

Cheers,

ADSL to NBN change

Hi, I'm planning to replace my ADSL/phone with an NBN service and appreciate the delay in porting the phone number. What's more important to me is that I have a static IP address and would like to transfer this address to the NBN service. But there is no mention of such a transfer on the application...

Can I slow to H268A ports ?

Hi,
Some of my LAN devices have ethernet ports that should be able to run at 1Gb/s but this is causing software errors. Is there any way I can limit the H268A to 100Mb/s ? The H268A has firmware 1T7. I've done a port scan but only find 53, 80, and 139 open.

Thanks,

Re: ZTE H268A port forwarding problems

Hi, I have to change the LAN address because the network has stations with static addresses. Still, it seems silly that giving the router an address ending in ".1" enables IPv4 port forwarding whereas ".2" doesn't. Beats me ??? It's not an issue now because I've removed the conflicting modem/router....

Re: ZTE H268A port forwarding problems

Hi, Today I have managed to get IPv6 forwarding working. This requires disabling all ALG and adding one or more IPv6 filters. Example filter: Mode: allow Protocol: any Source IPv6 addr: 2000::/3 Dest IPv6 addr : 2406:3400:xxxxxxxxxxx/128 Ingress: Exetel_ETHWAN Egress: LAN I now have two of these fil...

ZTE H268A port forwarding problems

Hi, Recently I enabled IPv4 port forwarding for some ports and all was okay. Today all the forwarding stopped. I had changed the LAN address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 so the router wouldn't clash with a modem I was testing. I then changed the LAN address back to 192.168.1.1 and magically the p...

Re: IPv6 /56 subnet?

Yes, thanks for the info. After reading some APNIC documents I figured that maybe Exetel has a /32 block.

Cheers,

Re: Exetel ZTE H268A USB and SAMBA share issues

Ah well, not a major issue. At least it works well with a 4G stick which is much more important.

Re: Exetel ZTE H268A USB and SAMBA share issues

Hi,

I also have the same problem in that I can access the USB stick (//zte-smbshare/samba) and can list the directories but cannot access the files. Access via Windows 7 is fine but not via Linux. If you have a solution can you please make it public.

Thanks,

Re: IPv6 /56 subnet?

Hi, Thanks for the info. What gets me is that if the prefix for all Exetel users is /48 (my assumption) and Exetel is offering each user a /60 subnet then there are only 12 bits left which limits the number of users to 4096. Whereas if Exetel only offered each user a /64 prefix then it could accomm...

Re: IPv6 /56 subnet?

Hi,

Am I correct in thinking that with a /60 subnet I would have 68 bits available for my device addresses ? 2 to the power of 68 is an awful lot of devices. Why would anybody need more addresses ? Or perhaps I don't understand IPv6 addressing.

Re: IPv6 details for NBN connection with static IPv4 address

Thank you for providing the requested details. We have sent you an email to your nominated email on the requested information. #15551995 Hi, Thanks for the details that seem to work. I'm still chasing the addresses for the Exetel DNS servers. Or should I just use an IPv6 version of the IPv4 address...
