6 business days to port across to exetel but still can't text

Hi I started activation process Monday or Tuesday 15/16th April. I still haven't received a text confirmation or email from exetel. Finally, Wednesday afternoon, 24th April, my previous service went dead. I put in the exetel sim. I can make calls but I cannot send or receive texts. Mobile data is sw...

Speed dropped from 6mbps to 0.5mbps for last 7 days

Last Sunday I took the adsl cable out of the back of my TP Link modem router (TD-VG5612). A few hours later I stuck it back in. Before taking it out speeds were consistently above 6mbps. Ever since they have been around 0.5mbps

I did hard resets a number of time but no change. Any advice?
Thanks

Re: Billion 7404VGPX - unreliable connection with Huawei 1762e

I get line speeds of between 600Kbps up to 2.3Mbps but download speeds as low as 40 Kbps (this is less than dialup). I've tried the changes to my router and also connot get the changes to "stick". Hi justharves re the speed issue, I'll just ask but you may know this so don't be offended, line speed...

Re: Billion 7404VGPX - unreliable connection with Huawei 1762e

Okay I've had connection all day today and it was probably the "Keep Alive" function mentioned above by IanS. I couldn't get "Keep Alive" to stay enabled but Quentin from Whirlpool wrote: "After changing settings you need to [scroll down and] press "apply" first & then "save config", settings should...

Re: Billion 7404VGPX - unreliable connection with Huawei 1762e

There's a couple of settings on the 3G WAN Profile page, that may or may not help... Mode - set to UMTS only Connection - Always On Keep Alive - Enable Not sure if the "keep alive" function does a periodic ping or not Yes I suspected also that "Keep Alive" may do a periodic ping but this is another...

Re: Billion 7404VGPX - unreliable connection with Huawei 1762e

That's a tops idea. It was at 3600 and I'm just changing in to 240.

Edit: . . . but I tell you what, this Billion GUI system sucks. 3 times now I've changed it from 3600 to 240, "applied", "saved config" and "restarted" once, go back to it and it says 3600 again!!.

Re: Billion 7404VGPX - unreliable connection with Huawei 1762e

Thanks jokiin I've got that running now but it's pinging constantly. Can I change the time so it does it less frequently (eg once a minute or something like that) to reduce the amount of data consumed? Or is that not an issue, being so small 32 bytes a ping? Also, if I just shut down the command pro...

Re: Billion 7404VGPX - unreliable connection with Huawei 1762e

Dazzled, thanks again for your help today. "a repeating ping on Google" I just did a quick google search on this and couldn't see much, and what I did see looked out of my depth, or at least out of my current knowledge - I'd have to learn something really new!!. "How to make a batch file to ping 1 I...

Re: Huawei E1762 (7.2/384) vs Huawei E160 (3.6/384)

I went for the 1762 and I'm glad I did because I have had speeds of 4.1Mbps which th 169 could not do. I also use Voip and it's been very very clear. Extra cost? Shop around!!

Billion 7404VGPX - unreliable connection with Huawei 1762e

Hi I've been connected to a 3G plan for less than a week. The Huawei 1762e seems prettty good. I've had speeds up to 4.1Mbps just out of Orange NSW. But the connection has been very fragile since plugging in the Billion 7404 which I need for VoIP as there is no landline to the property I'm living at...

Re: Back at Exetel & it took 17 hours to get junk mail!!

I think I got the answer from Whirlpool forum. Somebody wrote: "Did you get the same email address that you had last time? If so, then it would have already been on spam lists so that would be the reason you got one so quickly." And I replied: Well done, you get the cigar. That's absolutely what's h...

Thanks Dazzle
I guess I'll have to go with the querky name option if I want to skip on the junk mail.
