Re: ping loss and high latency on ADSL2

Hi, I have similar issues to the above, what was the resolution for this ? Pinging the gateway reported by the modem results below : ping -w 5000 -n 50 220.233.1.45 Pinging 220.233.1.45 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 220.233.1.45: bytes=32 time=53ms TTL=254 Reply from 220.233.1.45: bytes=32 time=...

OK, but I'm out of contract and the fee is higher than if I was signing up for a new service ?

So there is something wrong with my account :

Current Plan Type: INC2DSLC

Change to Z/21NOTEL $100.00

Re: Price Increase Of $5.00 per Month On All Old ADSL Plans

Why are the BYO plans so much cheaper than the Optus plans? I would have thought there would be a benefit to taking the Exetel phone line but it is the other way around. Unfortunately I am stuck on Optus. With the byo you have to add about $30 a month that you pay to someone else for the phone line...

Re: Plan Change Fee

I'm on INC2DSLC ( which is on Optus I believe ). According to my user facilities a change to NF/22NOTEL is $100.00 . Is this correct ? This might be because you are still within contract? $100 is the early termination fee. Once you are outside of contract, you can move from a bundled service (INCPH...

There would be no fee to change between the plans, as they are both on Optus Wholesale DSLAMS, and essentially the same product.

Re: Price Increase Of $5.00 per Month On All Old ADSL Plans

My understanding is that as your current plan includes a phone rental component and income may be generated from the PSTN calls you may make on that phone, Optus consider a change to Naked which has no Optus phone "attached" as a break of contract hence the $100 fee. Well my phone is pretty much ne...

Re: Price Increase Of $5.00 per Month On All Old ADSL Plans

The only plan I'd be interested in changing to would be a naked one (currently on INC2DSLC), currently this will cost $100 to change over which is more than a new activation. Is this going to change back to a more reasonable figure at some point ?

Re: speed enquiry

I have the same modem as you and once in a while nothing but a restart of the modem will get speeds back to normal from a dialup like crawl.

Having done a little research it appears the cheaper Billions such as these aren't as good as their more expensive big brothers.

I'm still unable to send emails, should I log a fault to progress this ? You were initially blocked for making 100s of pointless connections per minute. I'm assuming you've changed IPs and at the moment I can see you've made one incomplete connection to one of the outgoing smtp servers. Have you tr...
