Re: Slow Internet - No Response to my ticket
Thanks for following up. I have resupplied all speed tests and required information. I appreciate it's only been a few days, but it's been many months since I started this ticket (Feb) and even longer since I actually started experiencing slow speeds. My speeds for the last few nights has been aroun...

Re: Slow Internet - No Response to my ticket
Ok so I still have slow sub 1.5mbps speeds with no explanation and am now being asked to run all of the line tests again. Sorry but this just isn't on.
At this point I'd like to break contract without a fee. Hopefully stumping up some cash with another provider will fix this issue.

Slow Internet - No Response to my ticket
Gents, any help would be appreciated it seems the ticket service is bogged down as I've not had further reply to my initial ticket (FTP-51767-677) in a week. Basically getting half speeds, my modem reports a decent sync rate (5000/500 ish) but actual download speeds are half that 1000/200 to 2500/50...

Yeah it's right in front of me...it's white and the kids have scribbled on it with black texter.
On a more serious note I disabled IPv6 but it didn't have any effect.
I haven't changed any config in the router itself although it does have the correct DNS settings.

FIXED.
Network settings didn't have the DNS listed. Entering the values manually has resolved the delay.
No idea why there would be such a delay by not having it but there you go.

Re: High Latency? Web Pages take ages to reply
No unfortunately only have the one here. Nothing running, it seems to spend a lot of time in the lookup stage (using firefox). Running Win7. Speeds are fine (not awesome but that's just the distance from the exchange) so I don't know what it is really. I got good response on ADSL1 but really I think...

Re: Latency increase across the board
I like to trade horses on betfair and the slower latency puts me at a distinct disadvantage. !!? You really think that 14ms difference puts you at a "distinct disadvantage". Try http://reflextest.net/reaction/color.htm. Human reaction time to visual stimulae is about 190ms meaning the time it takes...

High Latency? Web Pages take ages to reply
Hey guys, over the last few days accessing anything on the web has been a bit of a waiting game. Every site I go to takes probably 20 seconds to begin to load. My download speeds are decent and pinging exetel seems fine (just under 30 ms) as do other sites. I can't work it out so I'm looking for som...

Stupid Q! About Residential plans for business...
Ok so I have a silly question, what prevents us from using home/residential plans for a small business internet connection? Is it simply a case of different quality of service levels? I've been extremely happy with my residential service and I'd have no qualms recommending it for our primary ADSL so...

Optional Shaping V2.0 *New & Improved*
So, I thought maybe Exetel could improve the optional shaping options (where you opt to be shaped instead of charged when you exceed your download quota) by offering a GB/$ limit before you are shaped. Essentially I feel it would be nice to be able to go...let me go 3GB over (because I'm happy to pa...

Re: Report Broken Links/Failed Web Functions Here
Not sure if this has been mentioned. When I want to change to a shaped plan in terms of going over my limit it looks ok until I click change/update. After that it shows a 12-12 period instead of the new 2-12 period to select from at the bottom of the page. Further the previous request is shown toget...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times
This will have absolutely no impact on me so far as I can tell so I'm not fussed. The only thing I don't understand is how a bunch of downloading at 12 can affect the network but that it doesn't do so between 6am-12am. I know people have said most downloads finish by then, but with the nature of P2P...

Errors when connecting via FTP
Hey guys, for those that don't know I'm like the biggest noob ever when it comes to website design. Good, with that out of the way - lets get started. Basically I am starting a website intended for family photos in a photo album built by Lightroom. However lately when I ask Lightroom to update the p...

Vista Gadget? Where's it gone?
So I remember a time when we had a Vista Gadget floating around that displayed our download quota and stats etc. Does anyone have an idea of where it's gotten itself too? I've tried a few search terms but nothing is showing...any ideas?
Would anyone like to create one? I would if I could.
