Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

I wondered how it was possible... Hopefully the NBN will begin construction shortly so I can get even better speeds, as adsl 2 and cable aren't available. If I'm not mistaken, following areas are currently being severed and planned to be served in the near future. Point Cook - through Telstra Middl...

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

@N30N_F15H Given your location and the presence of retail/commercial in close proximity, it is fair to assume there is a sub-exchange close by, with a decent link back to the main exchange. If you google your suburb and "sub-exchange", there's a post on whirlpool outlining such. I wondered how it w...

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

I bit the bullet and signed up for 8 meg (best we can get at our exchange) for the last 2 months of my contract, $40 to not sign up for another contract but hopefully will solve the problem, as for congestion, my problem started the same time I churned from TPG..... coincidence?....anyway I "MUCH" ...

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

I see that the new 8 meg adsl1 plans are better than what I can upgrade my service to, for example,T8-120 meg, 120 gig for $60 a month, if I upgrade my service, the best I can do is 8 meg 100 gig and it will cost me $100 a month or 30 gig for $65?? Hardly seems fair to existing members, especially ...

Re: Question about the new 8192/384 ADSL1 PLANS

Just this month I've had my internet upgraded from 1.5mbps to 8mbps and what a difference it has made! As Dazzled was saying it's entirely dependent on what your sync rate is but if you get a decent one then you should have no worries at all watching videos and browsing the web and playing games, al...

This seems to have happened to a number of people, including me. CoreyPlover has made a suggestion on what to do here viewtopic.php?f=303&t=37302#p284516.

Re: Slow speed - Just changed to 8mbps

Well everyone, my issue is resolved! I thought it strange that I couldn't get over 1mbps, so I checked through my modem for something wrong until I came to my QoS settings. It seems someone in my house had switched it on and it was limiting the connection - So I switched it off! This is the speed te...

Re: Slow speed - Just changed to 8mbps

You might just want to wait a little while and keep resetting your modem from time to time. Early in the morning my change to 8Mbps had the same "slow" speed as you are getting but by lunch time i had a near full 8Mbps connection (am averaging 7Mbps on speedtest atm). I haven't been home since my f...

Re: Off-peak Time Wrong in Members Facilities

This is the same for me too.

My old times were 12-12, which it still says but I've moved to a plan that says it's 4-12.

Re: Slow speed - Just changed to 8mbps

I did the same as you .....I understand you may need to wait up to 2 days for Telstra to update their end. However, at least you have internet ! My wife tells me we have no Internet at home No Internet... My worst nightmare :( I did read that telstra usually change the connection on the 2nd of the ...

Slow speed - Just changed to 8mbps

Hi, My service was scheduled to change to 8mbps from 1.5mbps this morning (like many others I'm sure), and it has changed I believe because the sync speeds have changed in my modem, but the speeds have decreased. When running any speed test I can't get more than 1mbps, last night I could get 1.4mbps...

Re: Very slow speeds

Yes it's the same on all of the computers sadly. I thought you were checking that no one else was using the internet while i did the tests. That last ping was done about 10pm and now I've just done this one and the result is a lot better. It still seems to jump around a bit though. Congestion at the...

If you're referring to time of testing it was just 1 computer.

Very slow speeds

Hi, For the past few months my internet connection has been terribly slow. I have tried all of the isolation tests, new cable and filters and even a new modem - and none of these have fixed the slow speeds. My household relies heavily on this internet connection, and I've been letting it go telling ...
