Re: Exetel Outage Thursday morning...

Hi James - I'm connected back into my home network, must have been a bit chaotic when I tried earlier. I imagine it's been an interesting morning at Exetel HQ :) Please pass on my thanks to the engineers. Would still be keen to hear what collapsed and any infrastructure changes that might be forthco...

Re: Exetel Outage Thursday morning...

Seems like some states (VIC) are back online but NSW is still having difficulties (maybe the current issues are limited to those people who have rebooted thir router it seems...). My internet is fine, for example - but I use Optus's DNS.

Exetel Outage Thursday morning...

Hi guys. There was a 2 hour issue this morning where all exetel services were unavailable (they are back up now - more info here: https://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=296&t=39631). While I'm exceptionally glad that the focus was on fixing the problem rather than updating forums (http://forums...

A 50/50 split and a return to First-Class / Second-Class Use

I'd like to see off-peak periods extended to greater than 6 hours. At this time it seems like a bit of a false economy, where 65% of my available download is restricted to 25% of my daily window. I'd much rather have it split so it was 50/50. For people who "Game", VOIP or watch IPTV, Exetel is one ...

Re: Does Exetel provide a newsgroup service?

I just used Calliope to find out that "Exetel does not provide News Group services".

Feel free to delete this thread...

Does Exetel provide a newsgroup service?

If so, what is the URL?

Thanks

Re: Shaping...

I prefer option 1. I hit option 2 when it was first introduced and had no end of trouble trying to work out what my wife was talking about over the phone - also if I needed to get to my home system from work and the "tap was off", it would be annoying talking my wife through basic network troublesho...

High-volume users...

I average about 100GB per month (about 90% of that is P2P traffic), and have been stung by the after hours pricing model put in place a few months ago. It would be great if that decision was reversed, but I do understand the need to remain economically viable. It would also be great if we were able ...

MC, No Amex, now or ever

I use MC. Don't have an Amex, never will. Exetel has always been about charging the person using the service - I think this methodology should continue as it gives greater transparency around the true cost of the service (Coming from a guy who paid for excess usage 6 months out of 12 last year, some...
