Billing said no Direct Debit for mobile customers

I refer to my enquiry on ticket Exetel Billing #1873173. I was basically not provided with the option of using Direct Debit. This would mean that I have choice but to pay the $1.10 charge? To quote the service rep: "For mobile services alone payment is only possible via credit card which is why you ...

I want to know too.

Is it possible to bolt on a data pack to a mobile capped plan?

After swapping in and out my SIM card a few times, and turning the phone on and off a few times, the GPRS symbol miraculously appeared, and everything works!

Ok. It appears that GPRS had not been enabled on my new SIM. There's no GPRS icon. Can't get GPRS to connect ever. (tried phone, PDA, Laptop Dialup, Moto phone tools)... Multiple suburbs. It seems that GPRS is just not on. When I tried to request settings from wireless.vodafone.com.au, it says somet...

It werks!

Come home this afternoon, decided to check the mail to see if the SIM has arrived. To my amazement, it has. Came home. Popped in it, no go. Tried the old one again, still no go. Then, out of desperation, decided to do some old skool RTFM. Rang the number as instructed, and violia! In five minutes I ...

Sent. Just wondering. It is normal for a "defective" SIM to show up as "Unregistered"? I would have expected a message like "Check SIM". I ask this because the problem occurred out of the blue. There was no trauma occasioned to to the phone, nor was it subject to any abnormal use/abuse. Just wonderi...

Nope. No go. :-(

Even took the battery and SIM out for a few minutes, praying for a miracle as I turned it back on.

Yes. I have tried a Telstra SIM in my phone and it works. I inserted the Exetel SIM into a Nokia and it says Invalid SIM. Can't wait to get it working again. When can I expect to receive the new card? Also, I'm happy to return the "defective" card to you for troubleshooting, if you could provide a s...

I know it's not exetel's fault, but still I'm frustrated.

Are there any updates from vodafone?

PS Also, is 2.5 business-days downtime acceptable? What is the maximum acceptable tolerance, so that i can estimate when the service will come back?

Would it be quicker if I just port the number away and port it back?

Mobile service broken for 5 days and counting - awaiting fix

Just thought it would be more polite to post and rant here than on whirlpool. This is in relation to support ticket 597225. My SIM is not working. It says "Unregistered SIM" on the Razr and "Invalid SIM" on a Nokia phone. It's definitely not the phone that is at fault (it works with other SIMS). It ...
