Re: DNS entry 58.96.1.28
Thanks, I'm aware of that. My question was "Is that DNS setting OK?" Why is my router getting that other IP address when I set it to get DNS settings automatically? Is there malware in the router or is that what Exetel is sending it? And if it is Exetel sending it, why do I need to change it? Why do...

DNS entry 58.96.1.28
I've just set up a new modem/router, a Billion 7800VDPX, and it's saying that the primary DNS server is 58.96.1.28. The secondary is 220.233.0.3, which I know is one of the Exetel ones. Is this first one OK?

Re: How do you set the APN on iPhone5?
Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. You do NOT need to go into the Members Facility and enable tethering, it works as soon as your phone is ported, the same as every other carrier. I had no idea that I was supposed to "enable" it because it was already turned on. I did go in and "enable" it in the ...

Re: How do you set the APN on iPhone5?
I started using tethering straight away without realising that I was supposed to "enable" it in the Members section (I've never had to before, and it was working anyway). What's the difference? Does it affect charging or something? I'm seeing $57 of data charges on the usage page but I'm well within...

Mobile activation charge
The public page says that there's no activation charge for the M & U mobile plans until 30/9/2012 but in the members area it says until 31/8/2012. Is this a typo or is it until 30/9 for existing members?

Re: New landline settings
Yeah, I'm also in the position of having submitted changes over a week ago (not having caller id is very annoying when you've had it for the last 10 years, don't know why they don't put it on the application page). I've sent multiple emails spread over that week asking for a status update and receiv...

Plan change fee for TCV2-REGION-200
On the Whirlpool thread regarding this plan it seems that some people have been told there is a $40 plan change fee but others have been told, in writing, that the plan change fee is $0.00. Is this correct, and if so, why?

Re: Billing Date Change
OK, let's try that again from the top. My contract expires on 1/4/2011. The TCV20-REGION-200 plan is now available in the members area, it's close enough to the one I wanted, appears to be just an extra $10 I guess because it's regional. So I need to put in my plan change before 27th February (as pe...

Re: Billing Date Change
Nope, none the wiser. Edit: I get the point that you can have sweeteners to attract new customers, but these are completely different products. The video store doesn't have some videos that you're not allowed to rent if you already have an account. And there's no point attracting new customers with ...

Re: Billing Date Change
OK, so nigh on 5 years of being a loyal customer, defending Exetel on Whirlpool, not once raising a support request, and almost never using my allowance is rewarded by not letting me change to an advertised plan that is exactly what I want. Have it your way. This is a very odd company. Can I leave o...

OK. I want to change to the TCV20-200 plan but it's not available from the members section. How can I do that?

Re: Billing Date Change
My contract expires on 1/4/2011, and i want to change plans so as not to get hit with the $10 surcharge. Does this mean I can submit the change for the 28th March, or is there going to be a bunch of pro-rata amounts to work out for the last few days of March and the first 27 days of April?

Re: New ADSL1 Plans
I can't find any mention in the new T&Cs of the $3 a month service charge if you pay via direct debit. It mentions $1.10 if you pay by credit card.
Does this mean the direct debit charge doesn't apply to the new plans?

Re: HSPA Signup Question
I'm thinking of getting the HSPA M1 - HA plan to use with the WWAN card in my PC, is that the right option? As I understand it I just need a SIM card. If I was to add the HA option would that mean that I could use my PC as a phone without using VOIP? Is there software that enables that? or am I bett...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I think it's a great idea. I don't know if anyone else has said this, but I work from home as often as I can and so extending off-peak to 2PM would mean more of my remote desktop traffic into my work PC would be off peak. I already schedule stuff for after 2AM just to be considerate of people who (u...
