Heartbleed

Could someone from Exetel please advise whether any Exetel sites (including members, forums, etc) were vulnerable to the Heartbleed SSL bug? And if so, whether the patches have been applied. Trying to ascertain whether password changes are necessary.

Thanx

Re: Voip Question on NBN

I use an ATA on the NBN, very successfully. Exetel don't offer voice calls through the NTU V ports, they (exetel) are VoIP only on the NBN. The ATA can be plugged into the AirPort. But if you can get your number ported to Exetel VoIP then you're set. Callers to you will be charged the same as they a...

Re: Netcomm NB9WMAXXn VOiP keeps failing

Sounds like a faulty product. I had one of these when they first came out, it kept dropping connection. However there have been a couple of firmware updates since, and I have other customers using them with no issues. I would suggest the following: Disable any bit torrenting or uploading. If in doub...

Re: Can't hear ringing on outgoing call

I had same issue. Followed advice of others to submit a ticket. It started working again a couple days after that. So it looks like it is on the Exetel side to fix this problem. And it looks like you have to ask for it to be fixed. Hi It's a modem firmware issue which was an incompatibility between...

Re: Need help to select Exetel mobile/HSPA/VOIP service.

I'm no expert in mobile services, but I'll try to answer as many of these as accurately as I can 10. Can I access Internet from laptop with the mobile handset HSPA as modem with HSPA plan? I'm pretty sure you can interchange the SIM between a mobile, and a mobile broadband USB modem without any iss...

Re: Increase Of $5.00 Per Month In Your Current Plan Charge

Edit: Just as a little side note, Telstra called me a couple of weeks ago asking how my service was going, etc. I grumbled at them a lot about how I was very unhappy about them refusing several months ago to allow me to shift from the HomelinePlus plan back to HomeLineBasic without them disconnecti...

Re: PAYU 512k

Exetel cannot continue to offer plans (with frills) below cost.

It is rare for them to force a plan change (there are a large % of customers on old plans, many are cheaper than existing plans), but obviously they need to when the plans are below cost.

Re: Peak usage problem, sudden jump of 4gb with no one home.

Secure wireless with WPA (not WEP).

Use a 20 digit (or more) random password - not words and not short.

Hiding SSID is not a security protection. Nor is MAC filtering.

Re: Some clarifications required Please.

1 free voip DID is available to ALL plans - ADSL, ADSL2/NakedADSL and HSPA/Wireless. Also you will still have access to fax/sms. The only difference is that there are no freebies - lower plan prices for everyone and let those using a service pay for it, rather than be subsidised by those not using it.

The Fan Club is a good idea Dazzled :D I don't need a domain name for it, and it's really not all that necessary to have it backed up or anything.....most of his CDs are distributed via the local music store, but I've been listing them online on "Oztion" and they're turning over quite nicely so obv...

Re: Latest UK Moves Against Copyright Breaches

I suspect that if it weren't for Exetel's pro-active handling of copyright infringements, they could easily have been targeted in place of iiNet Exetel's system (block page) has been held up by AFACT as a model system - in court - therefore I think Exetel would easily feel reassured that they re im...

Re: Latest UK Moves Against Copyright Breaches

UK's moves might be moot as the EU regulations will overrule them anyway: http://www.itwire.com/content/view/29126/127/ The freedom provision effectively outlaws the basis of "Three Strikes laws" used in many jurisdictions to cut off repeat ‘offenders’ from the internet, and is the position of prefe...

Re: Latest UK Moves Against Copyright Breaches

What would be the impact on Exetel users if we adopted a policy of blocking access to servers that contain copyright material offered for 'free' download? Here's the argument YouTube uses: if they block some videos then it could be argued that the ones they miss they are giving permission for. For ...
