Re: Optus per minute plans question
I don't understand what is going to happen after March 31st. Are going to be able to sit on our existing Vodafone-provided plans forever? We are not going to do anything on March 31st. You can stay on the Exetel (via Vodafone network) plans for as long as you wish. Having said that, our preferred m...

Re: Mobile 1 plan change
Your saving from this promotion would be, Free activation $20*4 = $80 Free first month rental $19*4 = $76 First month discount $10*4 = $40 TOTAL saving = $196 which means a saving of $16.33 per month for 12 months!!!" I thought the cap plans and the minute plans that are Optus/Exetel were monthly n...

Re: Mobile 1 plan change
Got two slightly different emails (I have two vodaphone networked exetel mobile 1 plans). The First one was couched as an opportunity to reduce costs and it says; "Transfer to our new Mobile service (via the Optus network) and SAVE! Exetel has performed analysis on your mobile spend and this shows t...

Re: ADSL - Change Service Status
I am having same problem, the status is not coming up for me although I have received the email from Exetel that I have requested the change. Put application through a few days ago. It would be nice to see the status so I can verify exactly when I go from adsl 1 to adsl 2 so I can reboot modem at th...

Re: P2P Speeds Between 8 am and 12 Noon
So there is a definite loss of bandwidth but it's not as bad as some are here reporting. The ones that are getting 15k ~ 30k (meaning what?) do have a problem that might be related with their Software/Port forwarding/firewall/Exchange....etc . 15Kb/s to 30Kb/s is average speed achieved for some peo...

Re: P2P Speeds Between 8 am and 12 Noon
Myself and many other people manage to utilise all of our quota just fine. If you are getting a constant 15kb/s ALL NIGHT then it is unlikely to be throttling, more so how your client is set up or the seeder/leecher ratio of the p2p software you are using.
I've been using bitt...

Re: P2P Speeds Between 8 am and 12 Noon
I have to agree with the previous complaints concerning the Peer to Peer low Off Peak speeds and the fact that they run over the complete 10 hours. It seems that since the change to 2.00am starts for Offpeak that the bittorrent speeds provided by Exetel have been in the average of 15Kb/s. Now I know...

Re: Major Changes To 'No Frills' Plans
This is getting very confusing, three sets of plans in three days, Come on Exetel get your act together and stop wasting our time. Can we expect another set of plans tomorrow?? My only outstanding question is how does exetel do the transition from say a TL-BB to a NF21 plan since we are already into...

Re: Major Changes To 'No Frills' Plans
1. Same question as above , how does an existing customer of ADSL 1 join the NF/23BYO.? Also need following clarification. 2. These NF no frill plan for ADSL 2. Is that a slower version of the ADSL2+ that is on the PTLD Plan? Would we see any difference in real speed.? 3. What makes the NF plan a No...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I am against any changes. I am using VOIP and if the free download period extends furthur into the day when Peer to Peer is utilised to its fullest then it will really screw up with the quality of VOIP communications when its used primarily in the day. I dont want to hear about any QOS solutions for...

Re: Modification To 'Shaping' Option
I want to give Exetel some kudos for trying something new in introducing the shaping option a while ago. They certainly try and improve the system on a continual basis and having been with them for over 4 years I am the last person who wants to see them fail financially. Exetel are the closest thing...

Re: Increases To Many ADSL1 Plan Allowances
Exetel, I am on TELJ plan and I am fairly certain that when I checked (somewhere?) for the increased plan allowance that the peak period had moved from 20gb to 24 Gb from 1st October. Now when I check (either for a plan change or my current usage chart) I cannot find any evidence of this change to 2...

Re: P2P Improvements
Exetel's email seeks to explain and excuse the P2P performance that longtime customers have persevered with over many years (over 4 years in my case). I have always assumed that it wasn't Exetels' incompetence that caused me to average my P2P downloads at only 37kbs for a 1500/256 ADSL1 line but tha...

I have the same problem.Spent half the day trying to work out if I had an equipment problem especially as it cut out mid morning when everything was travelling just fine. Thanks for the update. I fully concur with Exetel creating a block at 47Gb so that it becomes a conscious action for the customer to extend his liability at $3 per Gb after 48 Gb. In that way Exetel will not be placed in the uncomfortable position of addressing questions about insufficient notificat...
