Re: Termination of service

The result was to flick the most expensive customers Yet at the same time, continuing to offer unlimited @ $59/mon to entice more potentially expensive customers. With the refusal to even hint at a rationale, it all looks rather shady. If that's really the case (and I'm not sure it is), then yes th...

Re: Termination of service

Clearly there is a reason more detailed than "commercial decision". As an 8+ year user I feel also a better explanation is warranted. If given (and reasonable), I'd bet many would accept it. However just sending a stock email like that will just rile people up. Is it because of complaints made about...

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

If it's slow at peak times ie in the evening basically the response is generally that it's their service provider's problem and they can't provide any further help such as when it might be fixed (which in reality is probably "upgraded" since it's unlikely anything is actually broken)

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

So because this user has other business accounts, you'll potentially do more? Business accounts probably pay more for a service level agreement, so Exetel *has* to do more or be in breach of that agreement. It's not the business account that has the issue is my understanding. Anyway, Exetel's state...

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

Which is fine except if the exchange is the weak point or bandwidth limited then any other upgrades are basically irrelevant. To the end consumer they only see the service as a whole.

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

Exetel is constantly looking for ways to optimize the performance of our network to the benefit all users, due to certain limitations/delays from our wholesale supplier's end, We are working with our wholesale supplier in order, we are unable to provide you with an exact ETR at this stage. Exetel, ...

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

Yes their speedtest links are wrong as I noted in my thread. Whilst they've been informed of this, it's unlikely anyone will bother to fix them. Just one more little hurdle it seems in the diagnosis. Did you do the Optus FTP tests? Apparently downloading a 10MB, a 100MB and a 1GB file simultaneously...

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

E) Supplier issues out of our control and no known time for a resolution if at all. You can leave and try someone else.

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

Try your test again now....most of my items just came back up to speed... Must have been all the little boys and girls going to bed at EXACTLY the same time...... I presume your inference is they are shaping? You assume because it's slow they are shaping. Why only "most of your items" then whatever...

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

My understanding though is that the "supplier's equipment" (or at least part of it) in this situation is the DSLAM in the exchange that connects upstream to Exetel's network. So the "supplier's equipment" actually sits between you and Exetel really. The fact they don't want the supplier named but us...

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

Is there much point though? There are multiple Whirlpool threads discussing the same issues. I'm being told it's "Exetel's supplier's equipment", "there's no ETR for supplier upgrades" and "if you don't like it, try someone else". So it's acknowledged that generally this is not going be resolved by ...

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

It seems the slowness is due network issues with supplier equipment. I have replied to your email (ref: 9020878) with detailed information. If this is an equipment issue, it seems to be in more than one state, I'm in Richmond, Victoria Equipment in the sense that it's not capable of handling the lo...

Re: Exetel Network Congestion

It seems the slowness is due network issues with supplier equipment. I have replied to your email (ref: 9020878) with detailed information. I don't follow how this occurs within Exetel's network visiting Exetel sites (speedtest and test file linked above) yet it's "supplier equipment". Can you expl...
