Hi I am currently getting annoyed with inflood of Talking Text messages dilveried to my fixed land line. Im using the same router as him lol. my instructions will work. go into control panel you might need to enable telnet Maintenance --> Access Control --> Services then Check Telnet and apply the setting. Maintenance --> System --> Reboot now on your desktop go to Start --> Run (in the box type "cmd')...

You gotta change it on the router. You can login with telnet to change it on the router. but the settings won't stick if the router is rebooted you gotta keep doing it if the modem resets. ifconfig (lists the interfaces) if the one with the net ip address is interface is ppp0 ifconfig ppp0 mtu 1400 ...

I have reverted back to my old settings from when I was getting good speeds
DSL-2730B

these settings made it go slow
PPPoE
encaps: LLC

On these settings I was getting 30kbs

So I am now using

PPPoA
encaps: VC-Mux

getting speeds of 550kbps

well my question is once I have gone over the allocated data and then I'm shaped do I pay for excess. I have checked the exetels web portal data and I'm over by 30 gig do I get charged this. The question before hand wasn't asking if this software was correct so ignore that. I want a straight answer ...

Hey just wondering this because the "Mini Exetel Usage Meter" program I use on my desktop, is telling me I have 30 dollars excess.

If I'm shaped do I still have to pay excess?

because I thought shaped stopped you from incurring any charges.
