Re: Sync Speed Now Lower.

1.5 Mbps is Telstra's idea of an adequate line for internet. As we all know, most can do better despite carrying a very weak signal. However a noisy line will slow you down, and if sufficiently noisy will drop you out when the modem digital conversion/demodulation algorithm cannot decode the signal...

Re: Sync Speed Now Lower.

Ok Guys, I've done the support thing, They are not helping, they say because I am getting above 1.5mpbs its not a problem but I used to get 12mbps, now I get between 6 and 8. The other thing I confirmed tonight is that the internet also drops out on occasion. I suspected this earlier but did not say...

Sync Speed Now Lower.

G'day All,

Just wondering why my sync speed could be down compared to before.
I'm on Telstra's ADSL2 I use to get sync speeds of 10-12mbps now the best I can do is 8mbps.
Any reasons why this should change?

Account Change Over

Hi, I changed from 1500A plan to the TE2E plan, I know its just turned the 1st of the month but I have received the speed change but my plan is still reading 1500A and the TE2E change is still PENDING. As such I still only have a 30GB limit as opposed to the 100gb limit that I am supposed to have. C...

Re: ADSL2+ Telstra Sync & Modem Settings

Anthony,

It still says PENDING but my syncs are at far greater speeds,

I've been told by Jason M to check QoS in my router which I did and nothing was enabled, he also said to try a 15min powercycle of the modem which I'm about to try right now. See you in 15-20mins.

Re: ADSL2+ Telstra Sync & Modem Settings

Did another powercycle and it came up better:
DownStream Connection Speed 12879 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 1020 kbps

That said I cannot download any faster than 1.3mbps (bits not bytes)

G'day everyone, Just got switched over to ADSL 2+ Getting DownStream Connection Speed 7298 kbps UpStream Connection Speed 1020 kbps Which I thought 7.2mb was a bit slow as I'm only 1.5km from exchange. Questions and a story about Telstra ADSL2+

Hey Everyone, Last Thursday I made a decision about leaving Exetel for Bigpond. They had the $70 deal for 200gb. Great I thought seeing as Exetel doesn't provide ADSL2+ From Telstra. Telstra's was the only 2+ available for my exchange. I sign up for two years mind you and thought sad to be leaving e...
