Re: Can't access VTAC website

Thanks for the help. I'll be calling VTAC tomorrow to tell them that their website isn't working for me, see what they say.

Can't access VTAC website

I haven't been able to access the VTAC (http://www.vtac.edu.au/) website all day. First tried at around 9am, still unable to. Have tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Tracing route to www.vtac.edu.au [144.140.62.150] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms NB6PLUS4W.home [192.168.1.1] 2 ...

Switching home phone providers - impact?

My family is looking at switching from Optus over to Telstra landline. We're hoping to keep the same telephone number. Will this have any effect on my ADSL2 (Via PowerTel) service?

Thanks.

Re: ADSL2 application - confused

It really is confusing now, isn't it? The Whirlpool check site can only be regarded as a guide, whereas each ISP's checker would presumably be definitive. Since you have made a PTL switch application, the worst that can happen is rejection, and you then stay where you are. You won't be charged for ...

Re: ADSL2 application - confused

You can test for availability of Exetel/Optus here http://sq.exetel.com.au/cgi-bin/adsl2_with_phone.pl and for Exetel/Powertel here http://sq.exetel.com.au/cgi-bin/adsl2_no_phone.pl AAPT via Powertel only is available from Exetel. There is a list of exchanges in this thread http://forum.exetel.com....

Re: ADSL2 application - confused

Thanks Dazzled. I received an SQ error with the first link, but I have tried it before and received the 'you cannot get ADSL2' message. So that means theres no Optus equipmentment on my exchange, but there is AAPT (after receiving the yes to ADSL2 via Powertel (AAPT?)).

Re: ADSL2 application - confused

Ok, thanks Jason. I checked on AAPT's website and I have the greenlight to get ADSL2 via them, so I should be good to go for ADSL2 through Exetel also? I checked on Exetels website again, except this time I choose a 'naked' plan and was told ADSL2 wasn't available (don't want naked anyway) for me, I...

ADSL2 application - confused

According to the ADSL2 status checker on the Exetel website, ADSL2 is available for my number. Your phone line 039399XXXX is connected To WTON exchange, which is ADSL2 enabled. we are able to provide ADSL2 for your premises. I rang Exetel Sales to confirm, was told ADSL2 was NOT available at my exch...

Other ISPs making the push for Telstra to wholesale ADSL2

With other major ISPs pushing for Telstra to provide ADSL2 as a wholesale, what does Exetel think of this? And is there any business plans to follow suit? You must mean odometer. It wouldn't be hard to add that, it's simply the sum of all usage for a particular service number :). Yep, that's the one - sorry about the confusion. Is it possible to add something like that? Oh, even actually using an odometer logo! That'd be really attractive and really ...
