Re: ADSL2 Plan Changes
Last I heard, these plans are intended to have a one-off toggle option to disable shaping and revert back to an unshaped $0.50/GB excess usage basis That option is listed there underneath the tables: The standard setting is shaped. You have the ability, once on the plan, to permanently switch to pa...

Re: ADSL2 Plan Changes
The page tells you how much Peak downloads you can get but nowhere spells out what Peak Time is, or what happens in the Off-Peak Time I'm fairly certain you'll find that's because they're removing off-peak downloads. They removed them from ADSL1 yesterday, and if you look at the first table in the ...

Re: Off Peak Period Change
I still think it's ridiculous that cheap plans get Unlimited quota though. Plan quotas should be something along the lines of 10/20, 30/60, 60/120, 90/Unlimited and Unlimited/Unlimited. If people want to DL heavy, make them pay for it. I'd much rather see that + a 12hr offpeak window than the curre...

Re: Off Peak Period Change
There is no change of value - unless you download an amount that cannot be accommodated in 180 hours a month.....very hard to actually do that. That seriously depends on the system you're using to download (both the protocol and the computer system), as well as your connection. For me I have a low ...

Re: Youtube causing WoW lag
If you grab the source of a running youtube video, you will see that it is only a heavy dose of browser javascript feeding your flash plug-in from the standard http port. Yeah, I was fairly certain Youtube was just running through port 80. Just wasn't sure if perhaps Exetel is prioritising that ove...

Youtube causing WoW lag
I've noticed lately (over the past few months) that if my wife uses Youtube with her laptop that it causes intermittent lag for WoW for me (basically lag spikes of 5-10 seconds every minute or so). I've tried different routers (ZyXEL 2602, Netcomm NB5+4W, Netcomm NB6+4WN) as well as setting up QoS o...

Re: Usage meter seemingly out
I also am having issues with being blocked, but they still hadn't been fixed before I left - had to come to parents-in-law's place to log in to find out what's going on.

Shaping charges
Not sure if this has already been covered somewhere (please forgive me and point in the right direction if it has), but currently I'm on the INCPHONEZ plan and I have opted to be shaped for offpeak (midnight to midday) downloads. I remember a little while ago they increased the offpeak downlaods to ...

Same issue here - ADSL2 inc telephone from melb. WoW latency is up around 800-1000ms.

Random dropouts
Hi, I am experiencing random dropouts on my ADSL2+ connection (usually about 1 per weekday evening and 2-3 per day on the weekends that I notice). I have performed an isolation test but I think I still got a disconnection, although it's kind of hard to know for certain with my modem (ZyXEL P-2602 HW...

Would these "credits" or blocks carry over to be used next month? Say if you purchased 5gb and only used 2 this month, 3 would be left to use in subsequent months? What I was suggesting was that you only get charged for what you use. Ie, you 'buy' an extra 5GB, which means that you can go up to tha...

I like the idea of shaping, particularly if we get to choose to shape peak or off-peak depending on our needs (for instance, I'd like to be able to shape off-peak but keep paying for peak usage). Buying data blocks is also a good idea, but I think it would be best if we could say how much we want to...

Unfortunately I am not at home at the moment, but my wife just called me to say that she has reached the 'blocked' address (she read it out as something like 10.something.exetel.com.au/blocked), but there is no link for her to click on - it comes up with a 'page cannot be found' error. She is using ...
