In Coolbellup i'm getting approx 10% packet loss between my router and the first external traceroute point, 204.1.96.58.static.exetel.com.au.
This problem started some time on the 26th.

Is this the "Unplanned ADSL and Fibre Outage - Connectivity Issues - WA" outage, or should i look elsewhere?

I've been using wine in preference to wineX (now cedega). Gentoo, AMD64
gnumeric, vi, and openoffice for when people mail you word documents.
i find wesnoth essential software, too.

If you read the referenced article, in a well respected journal, and had skimmed some of the hundreds of previous articles on the same subject, it would be hard for you to reach the conclusion that there is anything 'comic' about the effect that P2P usage has on the world wide fabric used to delive...

P2P breaking ISPs mailout

OK, i like that Exetel are honest about the de-prioritising of "P2P" traffic, and i'm not complaining about that. But this mailout, the content is, um, comedy? Surely, saying "P2P" traffic is breaking ISPs is more misleading than saying copyright breach costs the total value of all unlicensed copies...
