Re: 8192/384 what i'm paying for?
It's hard to tell when this will happen. My home connection gets the full 8mbps. One of my customers also gets about 6mpbs and he's a fair way from the exchange. However, another customer in the same town got a connection like yours, and in the end we decided to move to BigPond Business so we could ...

Re: Tenda W300D
In rare instances, changing your Exetel IP in user facilities can fix weird problems. I had one recently where two Billion modems - the customers and one of my loaners - would connect, sit there for 1 minute, and reboot. Changing the IP fixed that. Unfortunately it's happened to the same customer tw...

Re: New HSPA Plans
If you use the default E169 firmware (also works on E160s) you get an extra "voice" tab.

Re: Email not available outside exetel network?
If you have trouble hopping between networks, one easyish solution is to get a gmail address, get it to fetch your other email, and get it to impersonate that other email address. Their outgoing server uses SSL so it gets around ISP-level blocks for email sending. (And it kills your SPAM and reduces...

You can also try unplugging assorted appliances
I have a portable CD burner, and when I plug it in it drops my ADSL out intermittently. (SNR drops to about 5-7dB instead of 13dB.)

Re: 7404VNPX outbound local calls engaged
Exetel does not support Billion routers. You'll probably need to find another VoIP service provider, or buy a NetComm product.

Net Usage Item - how to fix for PAYG accounts
Hi :) Has your Net Usage Item just gone orange showing NaN%? Exetel has changed the way the usage is presented, removing the notion of Included and Additional usage on PAYG plans. This means that in order to get a green bar, you need to decide what you want your 'limit' to be. If you like the old 10...

Re: Faxes busted again?
Hard to justify an increase in price on this service given how touchy it is. Have just provisioned two numbers, and as yet no receipt of sent faxes, and no confirmation of faxes sent from my own email-to-fax service to these or my own numbers. Think I'll have to go back to utbox. Edit: There appears...

Re: New User Passwords
While it might be a bit late for you, it seems to be possible to access customer's PCs and modems even when they're on a blocked page IP. My PCHelpWare thing worked fine. http://www.uvnc.com/pchelpware/index.html - made changing passwords easy :) . I think Exetel hosted accounts are viewable as well...

Strange outage occurring?
Hi
I have a customer whose modem stays connected for about one minute, but then loses connectivity without losing sync. I also can't ping my own modem which is unusual- I'm not home at the moment.
Is there a strange outage happening?
Cheers, Mike.

Re: VOIP Caller ID's
I think there is an issue with their wholesaler not supporting CallerID masking, but as I only deal in ADSL1 I could be out of touch in this regard.

Re: New User Passwords
Please be advised it this is not actioned within 3 days of receiving this email, your members facility password will be re-generated by Exetel. How will the user be advised of this new password? I guess the current risk is that someone manages to hack the forum or some other Exetel facility. If the...

Re: Name Server details
Not sure if it's possible or not, but you may be able to get the DNS registrar (Crazy Domains) to forward the domain to your Exetel free hosting.
