We haven't had much go wrong with the service lately, but when you say no major hiccups, I worry. If you went to a new car salesperson and he told you that, by design, the model you were looking at will have intermittent problems and there will be some days where you just can't use it, would you buy...

Thanks.
I will monitor closely. I'm not so sure about VoIP anymore.
Having a phone service which doen't work but promises cheap calls is a bit like being offered as much as you can drink and then given a sieve.

And after I have done that 5 times, what then? As I said, there is NO VoIP light on the modem, which would indicate to me that I am not connected to the SIP server as it says in the owner's manual. When I go to the user facilities section on the Exetel website and click on VoIP status, it politely t...

The numbers are from all over the country and all dialled with correct area codes.
By the way, we now have no VoIP at all and the calls are being diverted through PSTN.
Have reset the modem Billion (7404G) to no avail.

Constantly Engaged

Every number I ring is engaged.
When I ring through PSTN I get straight through.
When I ring with mobile, I get straight through.
Yesterday I had call drop outs.
This is not looking good for VOIP!

VoIP connection problem

VoIP on...off..on..off...on...off for about the last 30 minutes. There it goes again!!! Off!!
Phone line reverts to PSTN, so obviously no VoIP. Been working superbly all day (first day with VoIP) now this problem.
Anyone else? Or just me?

Not being an expert here, but if you have a hiss on the landline, it would seem to indicate a fault there, and not with VOIP. We have had ongoing issues with Telstra over the quality of our connection for about 2 years, It is an intermittent problem which has eventually led to reconnecting from the ...

Thanks Spanner_Man, but recently one of the docs I had to send was 127MB, which is a bit big for most email inboxes. I'm dealing with large companies who receive faxes continually. If the stream is broken by the sending of 60 individual 2MB files, they will inevitably become lost. As they are usuall...

Thanks for the replies Spanner_Man and hornet 48, but the problem then is scanning 20-30 pages, converting to pdf and then emailing. The pdf cannot be over 2MB, so it's all going to be too difficult, especially from the client's end. At the moment the docs just get loaded onto the doc feeder and sen...

Fax Machine

We have a fax machine which picks up faxes on a Faxstream DUET line from Telstra.
If we go over to VOIP using say the Netcomm V300 adaptor and the existing analogue touchphone, will the fax still receive incoming?
Also, can we send faxes out over VOIP? Sometimes 20-30 pages Long Distance?
