FTTN - service not working in Terrigal

My mother has Exetel FTTN in Terrigal, previously on Exetel ADSL. Her account number is 0201328622 . She has been without internet and phone for about 10 days. This used to happen on ADSL as well, although not usually for this long. It only happens when it rains (so I am assuming the cable somewhere...

NF10WV dropouts

My mother (on Exetel) has recently switched from ADSL to FTTN. She is getting regular'ish dropouts (at least twice a day that she notices). We were watching a movie on Google Play last night and the internet dropped out twice in 2.5 hours. Modem (NF10WV) setup was by Exetel (modem was supplied by th...

Dropouts and static on OT30

My mother has recently experienced ADSL dropouts, as well as audible static ('sounds like running water' she says) on the landline. Someone on Whirlpool ( http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=462509&p=2#r26 - last post) suggested calling Telstra on 132 203 for them to do some tests. Is...

Switching plans - need to deactivate old plan?

I recently organised for my mother to port from her old Mobile 10 Cap (Exetel SIM from Vodafone) to the new CAP19 (using https://www.exetel.com.au/members/modify_mobile_change_plan.php). She has received her new SIM, it works fine, the old one no longer works (as is expected). Life is good. :) Now f...

Re: Phantom "Sending Message Text" SMS Are Being Sent

My mother (with Exetel) recently switched from an old Vodafone-based plan to the new CAP19 and is getting these Sim Backup SMS (both sent and received) as well. Can Exetel confirm: a) These won't continue indefinitely (if she gets it once or twice she'll put up with it, obviously)? b) She won't be c...

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

A January Exetel Customer news letter has been sent to all Exetel customers earlier today advising of a $10.00 price increase per month on all customer plans that are out of contract. This price increase will come into effect on 1st February 2011. PLEASE NOTE THIS INCREASE DOES NOT AFFECT CUSTOMERS...

Re: Exetel cap plans - charging for voicemail?

Klaas, That sounds plausible - there is an entry in the phonebook for it (turning it on and off etc) that my mum claims she has never dialled - but it may have been an accident. It also makes sense of the pricing since http://www.exetel.com.au/large_mobile_pricing_international.php says that CallScr...

Exetel cap plans - charging for voicemail?

My mother signed up with Exetel's $10 mobile cap plan under my advice. I had a look at her most recent bill (invoice# E0002767764 in case you need to look it up) and it stated: 1 MOBILE Monthly Charges - 0416###### $14.29 $14.29 Then later in the bill: Voice Charge Summary - MOBILE - 0416###### Mont...

100 free VoIP calls

http://www.exetel.com.au/residential-voip-overview.php (under 'Advantages of Exetel VoIP') states:

In conjunction with any of Exetel ADSL, you will receive 100 FREE calls to any landline in Australia.

I am not sure above is still accurate with the new plans.

Exetel Voice Service Notification

My mother (who is with Exetel) has gotten a number of emails (to an email.com account) with content of ???? (that is the actual content shown when she logs into her webmail at mail.com). Any clues as to what this is about? Headers were as below: To: not_telling_you@email.com CC: Subject: Exetel week...

Re: Confirm cost

Sweet thanks.

That is excellent, it means my mum now has two free DIDs (one with Exetel, one with MyNetFone's Whirlpool plan).
