Re: July Z* mobile specials
I am a current exetel ADSL and mobile customer. For each CAP plan I have I receive a $10 discount of my ADSL charge. If I convert a CAP plan to a Z plan as now seems possible, do I keep the $10 discount? It would help if this sort of detail could be clear on the change-plan page as it is a significa...
Re: IPv6
I just found this: http://www.computerworld.com.au/article/375549/ipv6_where_australian_carriers/ which includes this: Exetel Exetel support personnel told Computerworld Australia via email that an IPv6 deployment was planned “in near future”, but could not provide a time frame. “As soon as it is av...
Re: IPv6
Does Exetel have a plan for IPv6? Are they pushing their providers to use IPv6? I would really like to know this too. If some early adopters could get IPv6 connectivity, they/we could start learning all the traps-for-the-unwary, so there would be a cohort of people who could help answer new-be ques...

Re: Off Peak Period Change
I'm a bit confused by the wireless option. The original post describes it as 'free' (a term that JL has said that he doesn't like) and makes no mention of a minimum spend. The second post then seems to suggest there is a minimum spend - no idea where they got that idea. In the third post, ForumAdmin...

"Mobile plan comparison" give questionable results.
I just tried the "Mobile plan comparison" in the user facilities - quite a nice feature! However it is giving me strange results. For one particular mobile number (I have 5!) which is on the Mobile 2 plan ($5 minimum spend), it is telling me that the Mobile 1 plan would be cheaper ($40.43 vs $42.65)...

Re: My sync speed has dropped - what can I do?
Just incase anyone comes across this and wonders... It stayed around 4Mb/sec until just recently when it dropped to 1Mb/sec and then to zero. Both phone and internet stopped working. I reported this and within the 48 hours suggested as typical a man from Telstra came out and bypassed a bad joint in ...

Re: My sync speed has dropped - what can I do?
Thanks for that. It could well be a waterlogged telecommunications pit. I think it did rain quite a bit shortly before the big drop in sync rates, and it has been slowly getting better. Just now I told the modem to resync and it got a speed of 5718700 b/s which is the best yet, and while not much mo...

My sync speed has dropped - what can I do?
Until recently my ADSL2 (with phone) service would sync at around 8Mb/sec giving me download speeds as high as 600KB/sec. I have been monitoring the connection by downloading the exetel speed test page every half hour and watching the result with mrtg. On Friday 4th at around 9pm, the max throughput...

Re: Can anyone successfully watch the USOpen videos?
I figured out my problem - it was related to DNS. I had configured my DNS server to redirect certain zones line 'doubleclick.net' to a black hole (because I really don't like ads). The usopen video player fails to do anything useful if it cannot contact ad.doubleclick.net. So I'll have to take that ...

Re: Can anyone successfully watch the USOpen videos?
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried setting my DNS to forward through exetel's DNS and now it seems to be connecting to some exetel address and not going via iinet. But still no movie is displayed.
Maybe it needs a newer version of flash or something....

Can anyone successfully watch the USOpen videos?
I've been trying to watch the videos on http://www.usopen.org - for example the "Press Conference" interviews - and they don't seem to work. Is there any chance this is some how related to my connection, because it seems very unlikely that the USOpen site would be so broken. At the moment my browser...

Re: iiNet ADSL2 to Exetel Naked
According to http://exewiki.exetel.com.au/index.php?title=Can_I_port_numbers_from_the_PSTN%3F is it not possible to port PSTN numbers across to exetel VOIP. I guess that should changed to say that it is possible, and can be done when applying for a "Naked" ADSL service. .... and of course I can make...

Re: Slow connection since night - Optus ADSL2+ VIC
I'm on the Botany exchange in Syndey (Optus ADSL2) and I've still got poor speed, even after power cycling the modem.
But here is nothing odd on the graphs.Your current bandwidth reading is:
1.65 Mbps

Re: Is anyone else getting slow speeds over the past week?
I've just noticed that I'm only getting 200kbps direct from exetel: http://www.exetel.com.au/speed/initialmeter.php Your current bandwidth reading is: 199.50kbps which means you can download at 24.94 KB/sec. from our servers. This is via Optus on the Botany exchange. Any ideas? [EDIT] - rebooted my ...
