Re: Outage 23 Feb @ 13:45
Yeah, same here at Gosford. Facebook is completely out along with SMH. ABC and Google think about it...

Re: Mobile WiFi router
Thanks for your reply, Jokiin. I wasn't sure what the APN was or where to find it. But I managed to stumble my way through my Omnia, and all is working fine now. Not sure what you're wanting to do with the iPad but a bit more detail could probably help in getting some useful replies My iPad is a wif...

Re: Mobile WiFi router
Ok, I know a bit more, but not much more... I put my wireless broadband in my iPhone, and got the same responses as I did when I put it in my Omnia - no internet on the handset itself. So it looks to me wireless broadband sims only recognise a cut-down service, and will not work in a mobile phone. H...

Mobile WiFi router
I received my wireless usb modem, and all is well there. However, I always like to push technology a little further. I've just tried setting up a mobile WiFi hotspot by putting the sim into my Samsung Omnia, which already had WMWIfiRouter installed on it. My endevour failed. It would not connect to ...

Re: Pensioner Broadband Plans?
You asked what a pensioner is. Let me tell you! They are not merely old age silver topped fuddy duddies talking about the war and how disrespectful the youth are today. I became a pensioner at age 18! A pensioner is anyone who receives an old age or disability pension. So it's quite feasible there a...

Re: Mobile Offerings From Exetel
So long as the new plans stay comparable or better than the Moble X plan, I'm happy. I've been really happy with that plan, despite vodafone coverage being dismal - even in Sydney's innerwest! A key component for me is mobile internet. I only use it while travelling which isn't often. Paying 7c/mb i...

Re: Prospective customer with lots of questions.
Yes, I'm aware of the HSPA offer. But for the number of times I need mobile broadband, its not worth it. Which is why I'm asking, in detail, about the mobile offer.

Prospective customer with lots of questions.
I’m currently with 3 mobile, and after reading what Exetel is offering for mobiles, I am considering changing my mobile to Exetel. However, from what I’ve understood from the mobile section, it seems too good to be true! So I’d like to state how I’ve understood the offering so I can get clarificatio...

Re: Slow speeds
Ok, fair enough Corey. But in the month leading up to the Optus hickup at the start of May, my speeds were much more consistant. I use to keep my modem tucked out of the way. Since May, I've had to keep it in easy reach just in case I need to turn it on and off to get my connection going again.

Re: Slow speeds
After a slow morning like other people in here, I'm back up to acceptable speeds. I've also had plenty of dropouts too. I began to think my modem was dodgy. That got ruled out when I hooked up my old ASDL1 modem, which can do 8Mbs apparently. The same thing was happening. I'd love to know what's goi...

Service down?
Hello, I'm wondering if services are down in the Gosford area. I hooked up my modem to a 2nd machine with the same result. All was fine last night, and I haven't touched anything. Fortunately there's an unprotected wireless LAN nearby so I can still have access :D . I'd like to know what's going on ...
