Re: ubuntu 11
I've also noticed some buggy behaviour with Ubuntu 10.04 and a 160e, perhaps just because I was using it a lot recently. The connection's set up as usual and works fine most of the time but occasionally disconnects (after some minutes / hours connected) and when you attempt to reconnect, disconnects...

Re: Mobile international pricing: Exetel web page error?
International pricing relates to calls made from Australia to another country. International roaming is making calls from another country, thus using the overseas carrier's mobile network and incurring whatever charges they feel like applying. Naturally the prices are very different. The best way to...

Yep, anyone who wants this can enable it. The only ones suffering will be the rip-off merchants. Good job Exetel.

Good question. I wonder how he finds time to do any development in between posting similar messages on so many forums... Perhaps one of the mods could take a look?Dazzled wrote:Err - do you only publicise Qt meetings?

Re: Phone not listed in Moip application
The 6120 and 6121 are identical apart from the 3G frequencies (6120 is 2100/850 for NextG, but if you're in a 2100MHz area that shouldn't matter), so if you want to try it, just use the 6121 version. However the dev version of Exetel MoIP didn't work on my 6121, and I've seen lots of other users rep...

Re: Suggestion for mobile phone
But the E63 isn't HSPA is it? Ok if you can live with a maximum 384k speed, otherwise consider raising the budget and looking for an E71, which will also give you 900/2100 3G frequencies. Or if you can live with non-native VoIP, some of the 6xxx / 5800 might suit.

Re: Optus live streaming World Cup. Do-able on Exetel?
I hate to say it but the cheapest and easiest option would probably be to go out and buy an Optus prepaid sim.

Re: Pre-Paid Question
Note that the Exetel requirement is usage , not recharge. So if you just plug in the dongle and check your email every month or two, you're covered. For low usage you should consider the post-paid plans too - at $60 per year plus usage ($5pm) one of those could work out no more expensive and much le...

Re: eXeSMS will not send
Outgoing SMS being disabled for the SIM is irrelevant - you're not trying to send an SMS through the mobile service. What exeSMS does is connect to the Exetel server via your internet connection, and send from there. So the username and password you enter into exeSMS should be the ones you set up in...

Re: Exetel vs USB modem reported usage
With such a huge difference between expected and measured usage the first thing I'd be looking for is malware on the client computer. Are you running all Windows updates as soon as they're available, using a good virus scanner etc?

Re: Can't connect to Gmail over mobile hspa
I can't access email using the Gmail app. I can access it over wi-fi but not on Optus MMS. Any suggestions? Optus MMS is only for sending MMS messages. For any internet access you'll need another access point set up with the APN "exetel1". Also check the default access point in the web settings (We...

Re: Disable HSPA calls?
The only thing that sounded similar was "default call type" which i set to "internet" On my N80, selecting that pops up a note to the effect: "No matter what you set here it will fall back to GSM". The only way I've found to force a SIP call is to go to Options -> Internet call instead of pressing ...

Re: Using Exetel VOIP overseas
As long as you've got a decent wifi connection that doesn't block voip ports it should work fine. There's nothing at this end to stop you. The increased latency (unavoidable with distance) adds a bit of lag but it's not bad for calls to Australia. (I did have one call from Canada to India via Austra...
