AAPT ADSL2 service update request

In the July Newsletter, customers were told: AAPT Customers For various reasons we have decided not to offer residential AAPT ADSL2 services to new customers from June 1st 2011. We will continue to provide residential AAPT ADSL2+ services to current users until June 30th 2012. However new AAPT plans...

Re: ADSL cannot authenticate in NSW.

My connection has dropped though I can't confirm the cause remotely. Phone support has a recorded message saying that Exetel are currently experiencing an outage in NSW and engineers are looking into it. There is no estimated time for fixing.

Re: Strange email offer....

Why are you being offered this.....because our records show you are on an AAPT infrastructure. Ok, let me put this another way. I think it strange that I'm being offered Optus based plans when my local exchange did not to have Optus infrastructure. Unless that has changed in the last couple of mont...

Strange email offer....

This morning I got an email with the subject "Addition of Exetel Telephone Service for XXXXXXX and Special ADSL Offers" which is pretty confusing. The major thrust of the offer is to move from AAPT infrastructure to Optus with a change of phone carrier - OT & OF plans. There is also a small amount o...

AAPT / Powertel New Customers

It seems that AAPT / Powertel plans have disappeared from the ADSL2 page for new customers (http://www.exetel.com.au/a_plan_pricing_adsl2_new.php). However they can be found by navigating through exeWiki (getting to http://exewiki.exetel.com.au/index.php?title=ADSL_2_-_AAPT/Powertel_Products_%26_Ser...

Re: New 'Standard' Wireless Broadband Plans

The new part of the website (http://www.exetel.com.au/residential-hs ... andard.php) is unclear with the Excess charges. It just says 6c - which is very cheap flat rate no matter how much data you are in excess! :) Or perhaps it is meant to be 6c per some data unit!

Re: VOIP - Exetel income...

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear - or I don't understand the response! :D

Does Exetel receive an interconnection fee for incoming calls originating from another network to it's VOIP network? If so, is that fee just covering costs or making a small profit?

VOIP - Exetel income...

Hi there. I have a question as someone favourably inclined to seeing Exetel do well. As someone with both a (Telstra - no choice) PSTN line and (Exetel) VOIP at home, when I'm out I've got a choice of two numbers that I can ring home. With the exception of IP usage (which is minimal), there is no re...

Re: The Exetel 6-year club

One of the things we didn't have time to address in the days before new year was to put in place a formal loyalty program based on longevity. We got close and the likely structure of the program we hope to have in place by 1/1/2011 may look like this with the following monthly discounts:..... Are t...

Re: Report Broken Links/Failed Web Functions Here

Hi there. A google search for "wireless exetel" gives as the second match the Exetel "Wireless FAQ" with the link http://www.exetel.com.au/c_wireless_faq.php . I can't navigate to that link from within Exetel's website so I suspect those plans are no longer active. I've come across other such inacti...

Re: Prepaid - T&C

For the sake of anyone coming across this thread later, I've rung Exetel sales a prepaid service has a total of 3 months from expiry of credit until cancellation. At 2 months into that period, an email will be sent informing that the cancellation will occur in 1 month.

Sheesh, I tried to offer a helpful and positive outlook based on Exetel's history over the past couple of years. Did not expect such a dismissive (almost insulting) response. It now appears you hijacked this thread just to rant. I am sorry that I could not help you. Ravenous, the response you've qu...

Re: Change ADSL2+ Plan

Wait(TM)! They will be made available if and when Exetel are ready to do so.... Ravenous, I suspect your post is speculation rather than based on knowledge. Jason's reply is far more likely to represent Exetel's position and it is unlikely to change. I personally suspect that the December newslette...
