Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

i was wondering how much upload data costs exetel if anything at all? Because my uploads (due to torrent) in some months are as large as my downloads (more an issue of not downloading that much :P) I was also interested whether it would cause congestion for other exetel users during busy times? Sorr...

Re: Thankyou

I have come to realize there are some huge, excuse the expression (pigs) as in hogs who it seems need to download anything that moves, because they feel they have a right, Iv sometimes tried to get into their minds as in a verbal conversation with some to find out why. It doesnt work, they just fee...

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

No sarcasm intended whatsoever...but for how long this time? Or has the business plan changed to truly 'grandfather' existing plans and concentrate on new customers well you seem to realise that exetel change plans as times change. Of course if exetel can't sustain the current users on current plan...

Re: Off Peak Period Change

They will be on a 12 month conract sorry if you've already answered this. But what does the 12month contract refer to. Because there's no montly cost AFAIK or minimum usage so whats the point of the contract. (Unless its referring to the modem being network locked for 12months or something along th...

Re: ADSL2 Plan Changes

Are these "new" OT plans available to existing customers? Or perhaps the better question, when will these be available to existing customers? Currently on NF/20INCTEL which is $50 with no included downloads ($1/Gb peak & $0.5/Gb offpeak). If I'm not mistaken OTA plan is $50 and includes 10 Gb. This...

Re: Reduction of Off Peak Period?

i think the backlash more has to do with the fact that new plans were released so soon and then bam exetel changes conditions the next month. Having been with exetel for a while it wasn't really a suprise to me as offpeak has changed for better and worse quite often. But i guess new users wouldn't b...

Re: Wireless Internet Included In ADSL Plan Prices

If it's as stated, ie. no monthly but a $5 minimum usage, I think a lot of people like me will be tempted but won't actually go through the changes because the saving is not that significant. where does it say minimum usage. Did i miss that bit? However, for me to change to exetel's wireless servic...

Re: Off Peak Period Change

is the wireless offer still on.
I think it would still be nice if we can choose to move to shorter offpeak and get the wireless.

Re: Wireless Internet Included In ADSL Plan Prices

the wireless plan mentions that its a 12mth contract. If its PAYG they why would a contract period be needed? Or is that referring to the modem as in you can't use the modem for someone else's wireless services.

Also, what modem will one be getting and does the $50 include a sim aswell.

Re: Off Peak Period Change

As was mentioned previously exetel reserve the right to change offpeak times. Though it does appear somewhat deceptive/unfair to change contracts so soon after announcing new plans, as i'm sure some people would have elected to choose different plans if they had known this earlier. Nonetheless, i fe...

Re: ETA on new GBIT link?

they mentioned it in the newspaper that they wre going to replace 1gbit links with 10gbit hardware. But there didn't set a time line for that. I hope it happnes this month. They said that they were upgrading pops to be completed by 12th may. After that "next round of upgrades will start". So earlies...

Re: Ordinary Speeds

In the last week progress was made in increasing network capacity with the planned upgrades for the Sydney and Brisbane PoPs completed by Friday i don't quite understand what's meant by pops. But does these upgrades mean increased link capacity. because there is a fair amount of congestion at the l...

Re: How can this be fixed?

if your on byo plan then it is probably congestion nothing you can do about it . Generally this seems to be the case on weekends esp mornings. Its unlikely you'll be able to do anything about it. (i think exetel will upgrade infrastructure in due time but since its occuring during offpeak its not an...

Re: ADSL2 Plan Changes

for those interested
it seems as though exetel will let you keep your old off-peak download times if you had 2am to 2pm when you move to a new plan :D.
