Re: Sites blocked - access denied error

That error message is different to the one posted earlier:Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://www.woolworths.com.au/" on this server. Are all sites providing the same error message as the woolworths message above, or, are they all different? I took a quick Google about the bigw...

Re: Sites blocked - access denied error

The sites are hosted on Akamai CDN Exetel host(ed?) an Akamai cluster... when the problem is evident, try: ping www.woolworths.com.au ping www.opsm.com.au My results below: ping www.opsm.com.au Pinging e2741.b.akamaiedge.net [23.77.135.101] with 32 bytes of data: ping www.woolworths.com.au Pinging e...

Re: Sites blocked - access denied error

It's unlikely that woolworths.com.au are blocking his IP...

I'd suggest there's a proxy being used or similar circumstance and that's where he is getting the access denied message.. Simply put though - it's the user's PC.

Re: Where are the network graphs?

The SMH was able to get hold of an Exetel usage graph for this article: http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/digital-life-news/these-graphs-show-the-impact-netflix-is-having-on-the-australian-internet-20150402-1mdc1i.html Those aren't provided by Exetel, that's the IX Australia graphs. .. and careful...

Re: Where are the network graphs?

Our IP and backhaul links are not "overloaded". That's great news, we'll just take your word for it! Put em back, you'll probably get less slow speed complaints given users can see and accept the congestion is a link over capacity. I suppose you'd conclude they were never at capacity if you believe...

Re: Where are the network graphs?

Decision during implementation? Heh? "We are going to implement network graphs for customers to see, and as part of that decision, remove them"? I suggest an alternative view, the network graphs painted a reflection of Exetel's link management, and they don't want to receive the embarassment about j...

You'll need to contact "O2" (or the provider of that IP address), a spam system has blacklisted that address for sending spam.

It could be during certain parts.

Exetel offer Off Peak bandwidth, and users seem to take advantage of that midnight period to start any long haul downloads.

The flow on effect of this is the network will see increased load during the 12am+ period, but this settles down just a few hours later.

Yeh, if the customer was right, they'd not be on the phone in the first place. :)
