Sounds like it is a jitter problem, thanks for the clue. I only have one computer and it does not matter if it is on or not. The phone is good now in the morning. gets bad in the evenings. My current bandwith is 6.9 mps. Maybe cancel my DID no and apply for another from a different Exchange?

Tried to call Tasmania last night with the soft phone. call was breaking up as before? call quality was better before I changed to ADSL2! Any other suggestions?

I can now leave a message on an answering machine since changing to another voip plan ( B). I also have a DID number now.
Maybe it was my original exetel voip number that was the problem?.

My modem is a NB9W+VOIP, I have done an upgrade, but still the same. Now if I need to leave a message, I will use my Telstra home phone, witch I use for incoming calls or I use my mobile phone.Not perfect but Works ok for me.

i have upgrade the firmware on my netcomm NB9W and the voip has been working ok since, calls where made locally and interstate. No dropouts and no echo as well. fingers crossed!!!

What am I doing wrong? Now when I make a call to a number outside the Illawarra area they can not hear me!!.It is every call. My change of plans from 512/128 to 1500/256 is up and running. I have made one call to the south coast and it did not drop out. I hope this has solved the problem, I will just have to wait an see! My voip service has been dropping out regularly for the past week and is getting quite annoying. I have not had so much trouble before. I have a NB9W modem on 512/128 line speed.
