Re: OK, what the heck have I got?

On 11 May 2010 John Linton sent out a subsequent email to all customers with the subject "There Will Be No Change To Exetel Plan Peak/Off Peak Times" stating the following: "Firstly let me apologise for any confusion I may have caused you in sending you two email advices concerning a projected chang...

Re: No download limitation to shaping for new OT and ON plans

This week Exetel sent me the following message by email: " Kindly note that the 50% limitation after getting shaped is applicable for all our ADSL2 plans currently ." Unfortunately there is still no mention on the Exetel web site, and particularly the members "Change Plan" page that this limitation ...

Re: No download limitation to shaping for new OT and ON plans

It is almost certainly an oversight. The advertised limitations you have listed are not Terms and Conditions (they are given at the bottom of the order forms). This definition in the T&C's is particularly important, you may want to take note then read the T&C document carefully. Unusually High Use ...

Re: old Z/20NOTEL plan vs new ONA plan

Agree with Spectator however and most importantly one must recognise the specific advanatges of the old Z plan. 1. Yes, the old Z plan does have a much longer OFF PEAK period (FREE DOWNLOAD period on ONA) which does not affect your monthly download quota. 2. That OFF PEAK period ends at 12 noon inst...

No download limitation to shaping for new OT and ON plans

Looking at the options and applicable conditions for the new OT and ON plans on both my CHANGE PLAN page and the PUBLIC page for ADSL2 plans; there is absolutely no mention of any download limitation or quota that applies once the monthly download quota for the plan is exceeded and the plan subseque...

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

I just noticed a SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE in SHAPING policy between the new OT and ON plans VS the new AA plans where a customers rents their phone line from another provider: For all the new OT and ON plans the following statement is made in relation to shaping without any condition, reservation or l...

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

Can anyone clarify on the new OT plans, once you exceed your peak download quota, whether shaping to 512 kbps affects your OFF PEAK download speed as well or only PEAK download speed :?:

Is this still going to happen or has it been ditched with the addition of the 6 hours free off-peak on the new OT plans?[/quote]

Realistically the Z plans have now become less competitive and rather obselete

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

I personally think that with the inclusion of the 6 hr off peak period to the new OT plans, the previous Z plans have become rather obselete unless you really need a 10 to 12 hr unlimited off peak period. Given the lowest cost OTA plan is $5 less than the lowest cost Z20 plan and both with UNLIMITED...

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

The new OT plans are looking much better with that in there now. To me it looks like OTA @ $50 per month (10gb and 6 hours off peak) is better than the older Z/20INCTEL @ $55 per month (10gb and off peak for 12 hours) - assuming you can dl what you need in 6 hours off peak each day By my calculatio...

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

Yes, Z plans have been replaced by OT plans across the board as of today and have NO OFF-PEAK download period. Seems Exetel is in a torrent of changes at the moment trying to find the right balance between profit and competitive advantage. Plan options, charges and dimensions seem to be changing dai...

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

I am currently on an old Exetel ADSL2+ plan with phone - INCPHONEZ which has attracted both a $3/mth admin charge and a $5/mth surcharge in addition to the $55/mth plan charge since I first started on it. So now it is actually costing me $63/mth. The off peak download period has also been cut back f...

Well it all started on Thursday 9 April just be fore the Easter break and of course just when Exetel and Australia are going on a 4 day break. I was connected at about 6pm then suddenly nothing.
