Re: ADSL2 Unlimited Plans (For Exetel Users Only)

personally, 50gb data is more than enough for me per month, as a loyal customer for 3yrs, i would much prefer money and time spent on improving connection speeds for download/upload, and for them not to be overpriced...considering the speeds other countries get for the same price we pay here in Aus....

is anyone else having P2P issues today?

I can't join any online games on the Playstation Network.
I tested a torrent, that wouldn't work.

is it just me or anyone else having this issue? it was working fine last night. nothing has worked since this morning.

Re: Optimize connection for the Playstation Network

I was totally in your situation Howard, in fact i was 1 day away from cancelling Exetel, but they managed to fix mine on a SUNDAY which was pretty good. and now my PSN connection is better than ever. I havent dropped once out in 2 days. i don't know what they did to fix it though.

Re: Optimize connection for the Playstation Network

yep, my brother has TPG and rarely has a connection problem. my close friend has Exetel in a fairly new apartment in Sydney city and also has timing out issues as i have found out today. if it's not Exetel, it's the Optus line. i would like to try going back to a Telstra line but Exetel do not run a...

Re: Optimize connection for the Playstation Network

i was just reading around on other forums, and it seems the problem may lie with the p2p shaping. the majority of PS3 multiplayer games are p2p. so maybe this needs to be looked at?

Re: Optimize connection for the Playstation Network

thank you between midday and 4pm the connection is at it's best, further into the night then it's nigh impossible to hold a connection. if you didnt know, the PSN is required to put the PS3 online for Online gaming. so if you think about it like having 2 simultaneous downloads happened the whole tim...

Optimize connection for the Playstation Network

Hello, I was wondering if Exetel can please optimize the connection to the Playstation Network (PSN), as it seems Exetel users are having constant dropouts from it and cannot hold a stable connection for longer than 15mins. the Ports for the PSN are: TCP: 80,443,5223 UDP: 3478-3479,3658 I have tried...

MTU

What is a good MTU to use? obviously my modem defaults to 1500, but i've been told it varies between ISP's.

i've tried doing the MTU test, and it won't go any higher than 1464 without fragmenting the packets.

thanks

No connection but ADSL lights still on?

Hello So i have suffered yet another drop out, but what i find confusing is that all the lights on my ADSL Modem/Router stay on, yet i cannot access the internet. What is going on??? it seems intermittent, as i just have to turn my modem off and on and everything will be fine again. i experience the...
