Re: Exceeding the peak quota: clarification

Thanks guys. I emailed residentialsupport and they advised me just to submit the "Change Peak Excess Downloads Option" form, which I did successfully. I hadn't tried submitting it before and assumed I couldn't until the 1st because of the wording "YOUR SELECTION IS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL THE FIRST OF N...

Exceeding the peak quota: clarification

I'm on the Z/20BYOLINE plan (from earlier this year) and I hit my peak quota yesterday. The blocked page indicated that I can download up to 2GB over my quota while shaped, but after that I'll be charged $6 per GB. However if I use the Members' Facilities to "Change Peak Excess Downloads Option" the...

Re: Copyright Infringement Notices

Thanks Exetel - this is a sensible development. Now that ISPs are off the hook, the big music/movie publishers may begin targeting users directly. Users need to be fully aware if they are being "watched", so knowing about these notices is all the more important.

Re: Plan Change Fee/New 'Ancillary Service Pricing

Thank you. I'm very happy you have listened to the users in this forum and reconsidered the high plan change fee. I was on an old plan that included the free calls/sms/fax, but with a change to a current plan the offer of ancillary services, my new total monthly cost will now be within a few dollars...

Re: Withdrawal Of Free Included Services On Older Plans

It is likely that the plan change fee in March will be very different to the plan change fee today just as today's plan change fee is very different to the plan change fee in January and for many months before that. OK, I get the hint - I'll wait till March or later. But that's a bit of a gamble. W...

Re: Withdrawal Of Free Included Services On Older Plans

I'm more than happy to change to a current plan, which doesn't offer the various freebies but has more generous download allowances. However, when I start this process from the user facilites I see that changing plans now incurs a $90 fee: I agree to pay $90.00 for plan change fee. I understand that...

Re: Odd Sites blocked from Exetel Account

I too have had problems with certain hosts. The ones I have noticed are: http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ (the AARNET mirror) I couldn't access this for a number of days last week. Worked from other internet connections but not Exetel. It seems to be OK again now. http://tracker.aelitis.com:6969 and 16...

Re: Missed Payment - automatic cutoff

This happened to me too - auto redirect failed and service seemed completely dead - so I'll email my details to Raymond as well. After 11 months of being with Exetel this was my first bad experience and my first reason to log a support ticket. Can I suggest that you also send an automated SMS to the...

Account names

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think i'll make the switch to the Optus plan. This question probably deserves a new thread, but I'll try my luck here anyway .... the current Telstra line is in my housemate's name, but the Exetel account is in mine. To authorise the disconnection/reconnection the acc...

Performance of Optus vs Powertel

Hi, I currently have a Powertel based "ANYPHONE" service at the Cheltenham exchange (Vic) but am considering changing to an Optus "Inc Phone" plan. That way I can ditch the Telstra supplied phone line and save a few dollars a month. Longer term I may ditch PTSN altogether and get naked. I'm aware of...
