Re: NBN Install Failure

Apparently we now have NBN to the building (a box on the wall outside), any idea how long to get the install tech back?

NBN Install Failure

So the NBN tech comes out today and ... no cable to building ... cant install, we will let you know what is happening. Meanwhile late last week the physical phone number has been transferred from Telstra to Exetel (well transferred to another provider, as Telstra cannot tell me who) so we have no ph...

Re: Crazy Usage - 173GB in 8 hours?

So the answer is if you have a "session mismatch", you can actually at least double the speed of your ADSL2 internet connection and download an impossible amount of data. It appears no one actually cares about the truth or customers at Exetel these days. If we did download this much data in 8 hours ...

Re: Crazy Usage - 173GB in 8 hours?

So they have dropped the days usage from 175GB to 88GB, remember this is in 8 hours, although the support tech was fixated on the 16 hour peak window. So 88 GB in 8 hours = 11GB and hour, that is 183MB min or just over 3MB a second, still impossible (I am being very polite here), and no further cont...

Crazy Usage - 173GB in 8 hours?

Just got an email that we are over our limit, and found 173,859.95 MB peak usage in 8 hours (9am to 5pm), not bad on an ADSL2 connection syncing at about 14500. That means about 6MBytes a second, difficult as the connection maxes out at about 1.8 to 2MB/s (if we are lucky, more like 1.4 or so). Any ...

Re: Disconnection

Looks like we are in for a fun night up for 5 minutes, down for 20 to 30, mine is also down again, looks like an authentication problem (Optus / Campbelltown), had this stuff before (too many times), we just have to wait. Members area shows many RADIUS logins, all labelled ok, but router reports inv...

Re: Sync but no connection (Campbelltown, NSW)

Rebooted again this morning at about 7am, and is now working (tried this solution a few times last night and it did not work then)

Re: Sync but no connection (Campbelltown, NSW)

Not only did it take 13hours to fix, I think it is back again, no auth since Sunday 11:30pm odd, took me about 2 hours yesterday to get someone to actually notice the problem. It appears to be an optus issue (I am posting this via my tethered iPhone 4 using my iPad)

Re: CAP19 with iPhone 3GS

Further to my edit, it appears that either during the removal from the old LG or the insertion into the iPhone, I have somehow damaged the SIM so it no longer allows connection to the rest of the world. The SIM is still recognised by the phone (now back in the LG), even reads the phone book just no ...

CAP19 with iPhone 3GS

My wife just purchased herself a Samsung Galaxy S II, and we want to use her old iPhone 3GS to replace my daughters LG 620, but according to our friends at Apple tell me the Optus SIM (CAP19) is not compatible, what do I need to do to get a working iPhone SIM for our CAP19 plan? Neil S EDIT: Actuall...

Campbelltown Exchange (Optus)

Any known problems at the Campbelltown Exchange (Optus), no login happening at all, still syncing as normal.
