Re: Adding webspace doesn't work

Dazzled, It reminds of FF from back in the days when FF was light, simple and fast. Pages render quickly and properly. On the down side it is a little too basic for my everyday usage, but I follow the project with interest as a KDE4/QT user (Gentoo btw) and feel that it is headed in a good direction...

Re: Adding webspace doesn't work

Dazzled, You're way off. There is a problem there with Linux & Firefox (3.5.5?) that has nothing to do with ftp plugins or ftp tools. The issue is setting up the web space from the members facilities using FF. Disabling the usual range of plug-ins that would cause such a problem and ensuring that th...

Re: Pensioner Broadband Plans?

Gawd, some of you are just downright mean! I suspect that there are too many here that would be too mean to take $10pw out of their own pocket to make the life of their parents on a governement pension or TPI sibling just that little bit easier. They will go around to visit and make all of the right...

Re: 857W configuration

Thanks for all of the help guys. It has been an interesting time getting this thing up. I have made a few dumb ass mistakes along the way. The dumbest one by far was erase flash Enter Enter instead of erase nvram... ouch! It turned out that NAT was working all along (verified by turning on NA...

Re: 857W configuration

This thread is getting away from my initial request for a "canned" configuration, so I have altered the thread title to reflect that.

Cheers

Re: 857W Configuration

Thanks John-e, That config was posted more to say "this is where I am at". I spotted a couple of issues (not sure if they were the same that you referred to) and straightened them out. I did have some IP weirdness. Wireless ips were 192.168.0.0/24, LAN IPs were 192.168.1.0/24 with the router at 192....

Re: 857W canned configuration

Here is my current config. Honest critiques are welcome. It is far from complete with a lot of work remaining in the are of security, but it is getting there and everything works smoothly. I had a crack at wireless and ethernet interfaces sharing the same DHCP pool but I have not figured out how to ...

Re: 857W canned configuration

Okay, this is the config that I used to get going with SDM. It is the default config file (sdmconfig-8xx.cfg) from the SDM installer package with a few changes. The changes are centred around removing the one shot cisco/cisco username/password from the config along with the nag messages to change th...

Re: 857W canned configuration

Thanks Munka, The problem that I was having was getting the LAN interfaces up. If I assigned static IP addresses (as opposed to using DHCP) to the connected computer I could get a connection briefly. It appeared that the connection was being dropped at the end of the router startup, but I am unsure ...

857W configuration

Hi everyone, Last month I introduced my sister to Exetel. She came from a Telstra business account (I don't know why) that supplied a Cisco 857W all-in-one-wonder that never worked right due to a lack of configuration. When her line was activated she called me for help and one look at the Cisco docu...
