Re: Passing of Mr John Linton

From the beginning they were the magicians of Exetel. (JL;SW-) A magician Mr Linton was certainly.

......I wish I was much better at my job and was a lot younger.

Re: Netflix

Is there a guarantee that Netflix at some stage will open up internationally? Nb. Discriminatory/dodgy pricing could easily make that un-worthwhile. "Netflix licensing is geographically specific and thus they would be very stringent on their ensuring that content only streams to USA IP addresses. " ...

Re: Data-Recharge HSPA vs. CAP-Mobile HSPA

It seems, in amongst your circumlocutory style of writing, that your opinion is that quotas and shaping are the only way to deliver broadband, including HSPA. I've yet to see any data that supports this. Unequivocally, that is correct. I thought that the high flow of customers toward NextG' this ye...

Re: Data-Recharge HSPA vs. CAP-Mobile HSPA

Hmmm suggesting there are users whom would judge such charges "non concerning" seems a quite alien feedback. To indicate with some confidence this 'abominable old-fashioned practice' is "moving toward obsolescence" http://www.zdnet.com.au/telstra-drops-wireless-excess-charges-339300428.htm http://ww...

Re: Data-Recharge HSPA vs. CAP-Mobile HSPA

~ Bump ~ Okay an update, I did not do an MOS test myself, but I did run some useful 8 X Pingtests and 10 X Speedtests, for anyone who may be interested in the Optus HSDPA network. Test samples from December 2010 - January 2011. 220.233.165.22x EXETEL Pre-Paid (RP2000) service My test basis is an HTC...

Re: Off Peak Periods

Telstra's Wholesale is metered/ un managed + overchaged at $1 per GB - that is specifically not to like . A _marked_ deterioration compared against my current: 'shaped' +'Unmetered until "2.00 PM"' service. Now I consider it is time i received ADSL2+, Thus..... If I don't see something *I do* like ...

Re: Report Broken Links/Failed Web Functions Here

After submitting the https://www.exetel.com.au/members/hspa_order_prepaid_form.php it notifies me to " Select a type of SIM " -the input for which (SIM-)type may be selected appears missing on the order form. Hi David, This is fixed now. Sorry about that. Not according to https://www.exetel.com.au/...

Re: Off Peak Periods

I think I'll likely need to transfer out to get resold Telstra_ADSL2+ at a reasonable price , but on the off chance management can address ... A) scrap the account\admin fee in time for next month B) abolish the practice of meter charges (excess charges in today's environment???) C) NO changes to ex...

Re: Off Peak Periods

Okay, I'll bite; I'd like to see an "off-peak" with a new twist for Exetel. 1) examine the HSPA MRT's to see just where the true peak is. You'd expect the highest number of interactive users there. The money generator. That is between 1700-2300 *6HOURS* everday, without fail. 2) Once You've found th...

Re: ADSL Plans/$10 - $25 Per Month Discounts

Anyone tried Optus' product yet ? ....Some speedtest.net samples would be worthwhile to evaluate. https://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=36911&start=60#p282159 Fri Oct 01, 2010 9:03 pm Edit). Please post in Data-Recharge HSPA vs. CAP-Mobile HSPA Exetel customers and or engineer.

Data-Recharge HSPA vs. CAP-Mobile HSPA

I'd like to recruit an 'engineer' or anyone to conduct & post a brief 'technology review' of : Prepaid Data Recharge (Plan) HSPA vs. Cap Mobile Service HSPA access, please include a VoIP Quality Test for each hspa product type and link a report summary from myspeed.visualware.com for example, my tes...

Re: New HSPA Plans

Appreciated, ForumAdministrater. at least you have been able to partially address my point ' e/ ' above by effecting a more beneficial (capped) price/gbyte prepaid of around~closer to 10bucks. Surely this shall put paid to the claim Exetel has renegotiated its deal with O.W., I refer to the eLetter ...

Re: New HSPA Plans

@ForumAdmin: I came up with $30.00 for 3 gbytes as being the 'golden' value price point (based on what the 'market' wants - not what we could afford to provide /.../ Numbers like $30/3gbytes make you realise there is no real point in getting out of bed any morning. Re: Optus 'Yes Time' to new Exetel Mobile cap plans

If you hold some belief in network neutrality-a viable concept(*) to replace the 'telco junk', there is an alternate effective pathway at our disposal: that would be to 'purchase neutrality' by-the-gigabyte, by starting here - For Use With Desktop/Laptop Computer, Apple iPad or Mobile Hand Set and a...
