Re: Stealing Other People's Property

Itunes will only allow tv show downloads in the US. Can't even go to CBS or NBC to stream to Australia, says we are not in the region allowed. Other free TV sites like Joost have the most crap shows no one has ever heard of. We want access to very popular shows, myself I like sci-fi and if Au...

Re: Optimising Shaped Connections

hi torydude, before changing back to normal settings goto your modem settings page and set your mtu in there to 576, save then reset modem and computer. Check your websites now. I used tcpoptimizer to alter settings for mtu and tcp window Select your network adapter for your modem/router. Using opti...

Re: Stealing Other People's Property

Just wanting to know if downloading tv shows that have been recorded from free to air sources, ie: eztv.it, is considered copyright infringement. If so why are these kind of sites still allowed to operate? Surely this would be classed as being an accessory or a dealer of illegal goods.

Re: DR TCP - Shaped Connections

Thankyou very much JasonM Web browsing when shaped was extremely painful. Used this program: TCPOptimizer to alter settings and worked perfectly. Now the pages will load in about 1/2 a minute, and not 1/2 an hour if at all. Much apreciated!!! :D :D :D :D :D Please make this a sticky for customers wh...

Re: Possible New ADSL2 Plans For New Financial Year

the "z" plan has 3GB included and the "a" plan has 12GB included, and the pricing page has been changed to let you know that you can select shaping for both peak and off-peak. Very good plans for ADSL2+. However, unfortunately, I can't get ADSL2+ at the Wanneroo exchange in Perth WA via Exetel so un...

Re: Possible New ADSL2 Plans For New Financial Year

On this link that Gidget shows: http://www.exetel.com.au/a_plan_pricing_adsl2.php there is no indication that excess can be shaped, only $3/GB for excess, where under the ADSL1 plans it has both options listed in the plan details. If you can shape ADSL2+ plans then the plan details should show this ...

Re: Possible New ADSL2 Plans For New Financial Year

The "Z" and "A" plans look good, however any chance of shaping excess downloads?

Also my exchange, Wanneroo in Perth, still has very little ADSL2+ ISP's available but want to stay with Exetel so can these prices be provided for ADSL1 8000 or at least 1500 plans?

Thanks.

Re: New customer, not happy

Hi Corey, Exetel staff must have been very busy for the last week as not many, if any posts on speed issues have been answered. Do you know if they are performing or planning to do any upgrades on the link capacities, especially P2P as is always maxed out? Also what does the Perth POP server upgrade...

Re: Shaping

hi wildwild. As long as both check boxes are ticked in the account-plan details you will not be charged for excess downloads, only shaped @ 64kbps for downloads and uploads. When you make change it will say pending and could take more than a week to become active. Make sure it has both check boxes a...

These images are from the Exetel Members Facilities page for Network Status: p2pcachegraph.JPG adsl1optus150link.JPG adsl1optus150link2.JPG As far as I know the blue line represents what users are downloading and the green is what we upload. The p2p cache is always maxed out for the downloads while ...

Re: New customer, not happy

Thanks Corey.

May try uploading @ 12KB/s to get better downloads, pending penalties. Still has got to be better than being a leecher @ 0.1KB/s up.

Re: New customer, not happy

Hi Corey,

If total bandwidth includes down and up then if uploads are set to 16KB/s (50%) for a 1536/256 connection should I be able to reasonably get about 96KB/s download (50%) for well seeded torrents? :|

James D, I am on the 1500/256 plan. What time on the 1st of the month is the list cleared? These tests were done in the peak period on the 1st: [`[*Test Results from Oz Broadband Speed Test*]`] [(---------------------------------- Test run on [*01/06/2008*] @...
