ADSL/Phone relocation

Hi there, We have an Exetel ADSL/phone service which is installed at our local school for a community group to use. It is currently terminated in a demountable classroom, which is going to be removed. The termination point needs to be moved into the school library, which is at the opposite end of th...

When this problem is present, a tracert times out at my local gateway - i.e. nothing comes back from the Exetel network.

Plan change charges

I've had an e-mail saying that if I don't change my plan I will be charged an extra $10 a month. Which is fine, I understand that these things may need to happen from time to time. What I'm not happy about is that to change my plan I will be charged $40! Surely if we are bing requested by Exetel to ...

I have 1.6.0_17 installed, but when I try to run exesms I get tha Java splash screen, followed by the following error: MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>] at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(Unkno...

Re: Development Proposal for New Exetel Desktop SMS

I can't get the new release to run on my MAC. I have Java version 1.6 installed (see my earlier post) but the new version of exeSMS bombs out with the message "Java runtime environment should be from Sun Microsystems. The vendor of the version being used is Apple Inc." As the only version of Java wh...

Re: Development Proposal for New Exetel Desktop SMS

Aha! Seems Apple is once again behind Windows and defaults to Java 1.5.

You can force it to use 1.6 if you have a 64 bit machine as described here.

I've done that and I can now run up the app and log in.

Thanks.

Re: Development Proposal for New Exetel Desktop SMS

I'm trying to run it on a Mac.

I navigate to the download folder and type java -jar "eXeSMS.jar" as instructed.

I then get two error windows. The first is:
Error opening connection - no suitable driver
if I OK this I then get:
java.lang.nullpointerexception

Any tips anyone?

Re: Development Proposal for New Exetel Desktop SMS

I'd like to see Mac support. I'm now forced to use a Mac at work and hence have lost access to the current Windows-only app.

Re: Still being billed by Telstra

So I have had my current bill cancelled and should get the cancellation backdated to the date when the service was actually stoppped. Well as usual in the world of Telstra it didn't quite happen like that. The cancellation wasn't backdated, and so I've received another bill. This time I spoke to Bi...

Re: Still being billed by Telstra

Customers should be taking responsibility for their own actions. I've looked back at all the documentation I received when I placed the order with Exetel to transfer my service to them. The first e-mail I was sent says (in part) "This email is confirmation that I am authorizing: .... a transfer of ...

Re: Still being billed by Telstra

I never did hear from any Exetel engineer. So I tried ringing BigPond again. This time I got someone who did admit that my ADSL service had been stopped, but said they 'weren't allowed' to close my account until I actually rang them. So I have had my current bill cancelled and should get the cancell...

Does that webform just send an e-mail then? I thought it was writing into a database.
