Re: ADSL2 Plan Changes

Cheers for the reply mate, I thought this may be the case but gaming performance > download amounts for me :) *runs off to member services to spend more monies*

Re: ADSL2 Plan Changes

I understand this may not be answered, but my only concern was having lower QOS / data prioritisation on the Exetel network by switching to one of the new plans. I'm currently on the older NF/23 plan (70+60) but happy to switch to Z23 if I know it won't affect gaming / ping times. I don't mind the $...

Re: ADSL2 Unlimited Plans (For Exetel Users Only)

I can see the benefits in this for Exetel as it provides a casual transition to a customer base on unlimited plans which allows them to gauge the response & plan their requirements appropriately. While my connection is only capable of around 4mbit due to distance, I am more worried that traffic prio...

Re: Latency increase across the board

Thanks for trying Jason, I'm also experiencing around 50-65ms to exetel.com.au via Gosford exchange. I noticed last night my pings to google.com.au were either ~180ms or ~330ms - it seemed to switch between the two and never give me anything in between. Could have been any sort of routing changes ha...

Re: Relocation / Recontracting Questions

If all you are doing is switching plans, then the change doesn't become effected until the 1st business day of the new month, therefore there are no pro-rata concerns Cheers, I meant for the month when I'm actually 'terminating' the service at the current location rather than when switching plans. ...

Re: Relocation / Recontracting Questions

Sorry for the early question - ignore #1... I clicked through the recontract form & see that it asks you to have new phone line connected before submitting. Therefore I guess the connection for the new location attempts to process as per normal 'new connection' request (ie. from that moment onwards).

Relocation / Recontracting Questions

I will be moving at the end of this month and therefore have to submit a 'move adsl' request for the disconnect/reconnect/recontract to take place. I have a couple of questions which would be great to resolve if you have the time :) I'm currently on ADSL2+ NONPHONE B. 1. When I submit the relocation...

Re: ADSL2 + phone plan relocation

Hmm you raise a fair point there. While I was wondering that Exetel would be nowhere but better off in this situation (theoretically locking my service in for another 12months+), I didn't think the disconnection fee from their supplier would be quite as much. As far as I know they usually work on pr...

Re: ADSL2 + phone plan relocation

It's not a relocation to our supplier, it's a disconnection and a new connection. If you are still within your initial contract term, the $100 early termination fee will also apply, and as noted on the page, only current plans are available. I'm in a similar situation at the moment, basically movin...

Relocating ADSL2 Service

I know this has been covered a few times in the past, but can be difficult to know if anything had changed. I'm currently halfway through a Naked DSL contract and will be moving house in approx 1 month. From what I understand, the charges would be $100 for contract termination, and then $40 signup a...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

the potential arises that people who are on 12pm-12am peak are now affected in ther peak time by users on the 3pm-3am peak smashing downloads right up until 3pm. Exactly the same point I mentioned... If the offpeak time changes for later, it gives a higher probability of people starting downloads w...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

I said this on the last page, but thought more about it. I am definitely worried about people (mainly schoolkids) who currently set download queues / torrents etc. to start around midnight and switch them off in the morning.... they're much more likely to start the downloading in the morning before ...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

I don't mind the time change - however am fairly concerned it will cause users to start download queues when they wake up - 6am til 8am for example, and therefore morning web use / voip / remote login for work VPN may be heavily affected for the worse. Unless the bandwidth usage spike remains to sta...

Re: Oxygen8 and Optus Jackpot

Call Optus mobile tech support and they'll run a check on any PSMS charges, and can then provide you with a 1300 / 1800 number you can call to unsubscribe from the service. Or reply with 'STOP' which will work with 99% of Premium SMS providers. Alternatively, PM me if you like and I may be able to h...
