Re: NBN Preorder

Hi Natasha,

I have signed up to the register some time ago.

What do you mean to inbox my service details? Just send my phone number to you via PM?

Cheers,

Adrian

NBN Preorder

Hi Exetel, I am expecting NBN to be available to my house in 6-8 weeks. I got an email from NBNCo as well as several letters from ISPs giving an exact date and suggesting I preorder with them. The idea of a preorder seems good to me to beat the rush and get NBN ASAP, and I would like to stay with Ex...

Re: NBN FTTN with BYO Modem (and VoIP)

Thanks for the reply. Where can I find a list of Exetel supported FTTN (VDSL2) modems, and are any of them able to be bridged so that a connected router can manage the connection? Does anyone know if any of the Exetel modems use the broadcom chipsets that are typically associated with high speed and...

NBN FTTN with BYO Modem (and VoIP)

Hi All, I have been on Exetel ADSL for some time, and recently received NBN notification that I can get FTTN in a couple of months, so starting to plan for this. I would like to upgrade my Exetel service to NBN, but I have a home network setup using Ubiquiti Unifi Wifi/Router/Gateway etc. so I am no...

Re: Options to amalgamate HSDPA plan and Vodafone replacemen

I am currently shopping for options that include tethering (for an iPad, so not massive data usage... not dowloading videos for PC or anything). The reason I am not just moving to a new optus plan is because of tethering and the high per MB cost of data on the per minute plans. There is talk on thes...

Re: Optus vs Voda Details

I recently purchased an iPad Wifi because I did not want an extra data plan getting an iPad 3G, and I have an iPhone so can tether it off that when out of Wifi range. I have used it quite a bit tethered, and need to be able to do this ongoing. Is there any Exetel plans that will support tethering? I...

Optus vs Voda Details

Hi All, I have been using the Exetel Mobile X plans for several years with an iPhone. I recently recieved an email indicating that these services will soon be changing, and I need to change to something else, so I am just considering what to change to. Have always liked Extel, so considering the new...

Re: Using current plan with IPHONE

Hi All, I got an iphone on the weekend, and it got it all up and running well. I rang exetel today and found out that the Mobile X plan defaults to the casual usage data pack which is what I wanted to try anyway. The exetel staff said that it would get 2G speed, but I have seen the phone say it has ...

Re: Using current plan with IPHONE

Sounds good... so I just get the iphone, move the SIM from my old phone to the iphone, get extel to add a data pack to my existing account, and then I am ready to go with the iphone with full 3G support at good data rates? Cheers, Adrian And to add to my questions, I see that extel has data packs f...

Re: Using current plan with IPHONE

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I am in a similar situation. I am currently on Mobile X and very happy with this plan. However I have a very old GSM phone and wish to upgrade to an iphone. I was planning to just purchase an iphone directly from apple unlocked. From reading above, I believe that...

Re: Would a new modem benefit me?

ACS 921E2 and 931E2 are central units. If either of these is correctly fitted you should be ok. Make sure it is mounted to regulations (on wall, visible, near first connection) if Telstra technicians ever come, as these things insert impedance and they will want to see it. My mistake... it is 931, ...

Re: Would a new modem benefit me?

I got misled - the ACS 901E2+ ADSL 2+ is an inline filter/splitter, not a central filter, which you will see from the reference above is a very different beast, with a bigger price tag. Obviously you can't wire an inline one wrongly. They can be used as a central filter, and that is how mine is con...

Re: Would a new modem benefit me?

Thanks Dazzled, I have the ACS 901E2+ filter. It made a big difference to my setup previously. I remember getting much higher speeds and much better connection quality. I think at the time it was the only one certified for ADSL2+. So it seems that I am far enough away fromt he exchange that there is...

Would a new modem benefit me?

Hi All, I have been with Exetel ADSL2 for around 18 months, and have been happy with this service. A brief history of my connection is that I applied initially for ADSL(1) with Telstra about 8-9 years ago, and was knocked back due to distance from the exchange (around 4+km I think). Eventually the r...
