Multiple ADSL connections?

Is it possible to provision a second ADSL2 connection, then combine the connections? I'm at the edge of the ADSL2 service connection possibilities, & am looking for a way to speed things up...

RFC 3007 - Can it be used with Exetel, and how to setup?

Hi

I am looking to set up a computer using RFC 3007, and was wondering if this was possible using Exetel. It's a Mac, and I have a number of reasons why I'd like to connect by name, rather than an IP and re-routing inside my home.

Any assistance would be appreciated :)

Re: What are the Peak & Off-Peak periods?

Ravenous - for starters, I'm not whingeing. I'm p!ssed that I've been charged $3 per month for a fee mentioned nowhere on the site [$42] (no doubt along with many others that are unaware the plans have changed), and whilst the new plans apparently offer better value, in reading through other posts t...

Re: Snow Leopard Server Set Up - Network issues

Hi Mastcell. Which configuration are you attempting? And which modem are you attempting? I had enormous problems last year attempting to set up my Snow Leopard Server as a "pass-thru" server (server sits between other computers & internet) with my Dynalink 1046VW modem. In the end I called on some e...

Re: Connection Failure between iMac & Modem

Hi Diesel. If the iBook is working fine then the connection to "outside" is not the problem. I had a similar problem but it turned out to be a conflicting IP address internally (2 devices trying to access the same IP address). Pretty certain though that both Leopard & Snow Leopard (sorry - don't rem...

Re: What are the Peak & Off-Peak periods?

So this is BS then? Exetel began offering services to residential users in January 2004 with only one objective: To provide internet, telephone and other communications service at lower monthly prices than ALL other suppliers of similar services to Australian users at the highest levels of quality a...

Re: What are the Peak & Off-Peak periods?

Re: What are the Peak & Off-Peak periods?

James - You're missing the point. We were "advised" that the times were changing in order to free up the midnight hit of scheduled downloaders. Exetel changed us. Now new, yet to be proven loyal, users of Exetel get the 12 hours peak, 12 off peak that I originally had, and I'm getting less for the s...

What are the Peak & Off-Peak periods?

Mid 2009, we were asked our opinion on moving the off-peak times from Midnight-Noon to 2am-Noon. It occurred. We get metered that way now. Current Month's ADSL Usage (view detailed) Your Usage From: 01-January-2010 (Updated at 2010-01-18 20:41:25) Peak | Period Option: 12 noon to 2:00 am 37.9 GB / 4...

Re: Setting up a Server

If I buy another, simpler, modem, can I add the Dynalink in post the Server and use it's VoIP then, or does the Dynalink require the "raw" ADSL connection to work for VoIP? Alternatively, I presume I can use the modems feature of being able to designate ports to bridge mode or Ethernet to enable me ...

Re: Setting up a Server

Thanks for your response. The server is a Mac XServe, running Snow Leopard. At this stage it is to run e-mail & a wiki server, and act as the gateway server for the rest of the LAN. The dilemma I'm having is that Snow Leopard Server is demanding that the IP address of the 1st Ethernet port be an ext...

Setting up a Server

Hi. I'm trying to set up a server which does all the services of the router (such as DHCP, NAT, Firewall), which is where I have come unstuck. All computers on the network can see the network. The server can see all the computers & the router. The router can see the internet. But the server can't se...

Re: VOIP lag on outgoing calls

Tamworth11 (& anyone else for that matter) I, too, suffered the lag. You need to upgrade the firmware to 3.64y. Then comes the REAL trick... You MUST do the factory reset thing in order for this to work. So ensure you know your account settings (e.g phone@state.exetel.com.au) & your VoIP password (i...

What a great update. Finally resolved the call lag issue, which was causing a lot of frustration from my wife, and it was really starting to P me off also.
