Re: You want twice for less?

What surprises me about all this is that Exetel has not been able to negotiate a better deal with Optus or another network. It seems to me that one key to Exetel's success has been its ability to negotiate these deals. Customers have come to rely on Exetel to do this. Exetel does not have to offer t...

Amaysim data charging

That's an interesting option Corey. Do you have a view about Amaysim charging data in 1MB increments. Some complain that chews up their 10GB unexpectedly quickly.

Re: Dynalink RTA1046VW incompatible with AirPlay?

Perhaps the Dynalink did not have sufficient speed - Marantz did suggest that might be a problem. I am now using a Fritzbox 7270 and AirPlay works fine.

Dynalink RTA1046VW incompatible with AirPlay?

I have a Marantz NA7004 network audio player that has AirPlay installed. After doing a lot of troubleshooting procedures with Marantz support they are now saying that the problem must be with my router and they can't help me any further. I have searched for router setting changes that might solve th...

"Kill The Irishman" torrent piracy

See this SMH article about possible legal action (or, more likely, threats of legal action) against some Exetel customers:

13, 1300, 1800 numbers

Is it possible to prevent mobiles on cap plans from calling these numbers? (In order to avoid the high cost of these calls) Two of the capped plans I have are used by my children and they can't always be relied upon to remember not to call these numbers on their mobiles (and that they should use the...

Re: mobile usage question

Maybe Exetel should use the same terminology in their marketing and their billing, ie On-Net == Exetel2Exetel, and confusion would reduce. I agree, it is only by reading this thread that I understood what "On-Net' means. Surely it cannot be that difficult to use consistent and clear terminology. I ...

Re: OCV200 switchover difficulties

Well the verdict is in and the 'subscriber-side' line is the guilty party. The electrician was able to find another working pair in the same line and service is fully restored. St Lucy is the patron saint of electricians and I directed all my prayers her way. It worked like a charm and I now believe...

Re: OCV200 switchover difficulties

Hi Gidget, Thanks for explainining everything so clearly (Exetel should employ you to rewrite some of their user instructions, many of which are not so clear). I had tried 2,3 and 4 already which leaves me with the wallsocket. It is fairly old but has not been a problem - nevertheless I'm going to g...

OCV200 switchover difficulties

This is a support issue but I don't think I am getting the right answer from Support. The first day of the new plan (Feb 1) our ADSL service stopped working around midday. I assumed that the switchover to the new PSTN was occurring however ADSL service did not resume and neither was there a PSTN lin...

Re: Naked switchover

An hour ago I got this email from Exetel: "Your application has now been released from 'pending' to proceed to activation as our supplier has now either activated your exchange or added more ports to your exchange. Your application still may not proceed if the current account number that appears on ...

Re: Naked switchover

Yes, my family are rapidly using up our mobile credits because of this stuff-up. Optus via Exetel should be offering to refund the calls - almost all would have been free if the line was working properly.

Re: Naked switchover

UPDATE Firstly, thanks to Corey for his feedback. Exetel have now tested the line and it appears that Optus staff have messed-up the switchover from naked to PSTN (how hard could that be?). I have been asked to wait 48 hours for the problem to be fixed.
