Re: Sync speed 15% of what it was

I have just run the line test again on your line and the results are still quite poor, are you certain everything has been removed from the line? Also, make sure if you have any alarm systems, central filters, etc that these are also removed, along with double checking every phone socket in the hou...

Re: Sync speed 15% of what it was

I can unplug everything from the line right now until 5:30 if you want.

I'll do it anyway and start it back up after COB.

Re: Sync speed 15% of what it was

Really not sure what the problem is, but this has never happened before and Im not reading anything about this anywhere on the forum so I don't know what I should do. Re: ADSL2 Unlimited Plans (For Exetel Users Only)

As a user who regularly notices some serious drop in speeds during peak hours, I can only imagine what would happen once we get a bunch of 24/7 downloaders going through here. I'm assuming the network is thought to be solid enough to handle the load and I certainly hope so, but history tells me that...

Re: Dial-up speeds today

Seems to be back to normal so far today. The issue was present all day yesterday though from when I first logged onto the PC at around 8am till when I gave up around 7pm or so. Sync speeds were A-OK and on the surface from what I could tell there should have been no issues. Also, Im on a wired conne...

Re: New Lambton Exchange

Im on the New Lambton exchange as well and I must say that today has been about as horrible service as I can remember. Constant PPP loss and extrordinarily slow speeds, despite normal line sync.

I have no idea whats going on, but it's made the net all but un-useable today.

Dial-up speeds today

On the Lamton exchange, no idea where the issue is...but today my service has been basically unusable. Pages either timeout or take five minutes to load. Just getting this page up has taken 3 minutes and five x F5's. Exetel speedtest won't finish within five minutes, Ozspeedtest shows 6-kbs a second...

Re: Constant PPP loss + ADSL Sync issues

Thanks for the detailed reply, people. So far, so good as far as service goes. No more issues to report since yesterday. Fingers crossed it remains that way for the foreseable future. One request though, would it be possible to remove the 8mb profile, so I can regain my full upload speed? I've kept ...

Re: Constant PPP loss + ADSL Sync issues

Thanks for the reply, mate. Had no idea iI hadn't changed my location since I moved back to Newcastle. So when you say I've lost the exchange, you're meaning Im unable to communicate with it, yeah? Im assuming nobody else on the exchange has suffered any issues, otherwise I'd probably be reading abo...

Re: Constant PPP loss + ADSL Sync issues

Just lost service again for about around an hour. ADSL light continually blinking and no connection possible.

What should I be doing about this?

Re: Constant PPP loss + ADSL Sync issues

Well, it was suggested to me to change from the ADSL2 profile to G.DMT because of stabiliy/performance issues. I've been using this profile for a couple of months now and have had no other issues. ANd yeah, the line attenuation has been a pretty big issue since having the line activated in March. Wa...

Constant PPP loss + ADSL Sync issues

Unsure of whats going on exactly, but over the past week or so I've been suffereing repeated loss of PPP authentication, requiring a restart of the router (NB6PLUS4W). Occasionally the router is also losing ADSL Sync, which requires a restart or power cycle of 30 minutes. None of this has happened e...

Re: Unable to connect to PSN

Problem solved. Looks as though my router has been compromised and various settings got tinkered with, namely my MTU settings.

All is well now. Please lock.
