4G Mobile Data Plans

Coupla questions: Are these services using SIM cards? If so, is there a voice + sms service that can be used? I have read that this is sometimes the case with mobile data plans. I'm considering trying to use one of these plans instead of a traditional voice, sms & data plan in any case, substituting...

Constant Dropouts, Varying Frequency.

I'm having service dropouts which are more frequent at different times, seems like during the day is worse than at night though not always.

This is really getting frustrating and I need to get this fixed.

This is what I'm talking about constantly:

Re: DNS failure solved by switching from Google DNS

Server failure isn't common. A couple of questions- 1) Could you use 220.233.0.4 as your 1st lookup? 2) Is it actually that your modem has dropped auto DNS? 3) Have you "hard wired" the name server in your computer? DNS queries and replies are small binary data packets. The BIND tool for investigat...

DNS failure solved by switching from Google DNS

Since this morning my Exetel ADSL2+ service has been dropping out constantly with DNS failures when I was using Google public DNS 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 I changed to OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220 and I have no problems now with DNS failure. Just thought I'd let the forum know in case anyone had...

Re: Slow Speeds, Dropouts

Hi OK it looks like my dropout issues are still not resolved as I'm have one now for the lats 10 minutes.

Can you please send the support email again as I cannot log into Exetel webmail. I've changed my account options to send messages to gmail. Thanks.

Re: Slow Speeds, Dropouts

Actually spoke too soon, service is continually working then not working ATM which is making doing anything online very frustrating. Speed had improved to what seemed like previous levels over the last few days though. I had Exetel webmail set as my primary email which I cannot access as logins are ...

Re: Slow Speeds, Dropouts

Hi thanks for the quick response.

The issues seem to have resolved by themselves so no need for any further action at this point.

Slow Speeds, Dropouts

Two issues: one I had my service suspended due to lack of funds when the direct debit attempt was made last month, once service was resumed it was extremely slow. I spoke to support over the phone, they improved it somewhat but not to the same level it was prior to the service being suspended. Uploa...

Re: ADSL2 Inconsistent Speeds and drop outs - Narellan

Same issues here along with the same lack of response from support. Unfortunately I didn't get around to changing service providers last month but that's happening this month. Currently my upload never gets past 21kB/s for any protocol and I'm having constant dropouts. Service varies wildly from ful...

Re: Slow as P2P

Diji1, Exetel senior people have already posted that neither they nor AAPT are filtering torrent connections. Something has changed, and was widely publicised; namely the cache removal, that as a by-product can disguise some torrent problems. My torrent result is above, done at home on Sunday after...

Re: Slow as P2P

So basically the answer to user issues reported here and over at Whirlpool is: "We're not going to fix the issue - use a different Bittorrent client" If you guys don't fix this by mid month I'm changing to TPG. I expect an ISP to fix these things - if it's your suppliers then fix it. Or else maybe ...

Re: Connection Dropouts & Ongoing Slow Speeds

I'll leave it to the support staff to comment on the line problem, but a little more information about Usenet degradation would be of interest, because others I know have no troubles. Which port - eg 23, 119, 80, 443? Which protocol? Number of connections? Where is the server located? PS Some count...

Connection Dropouts & Ongoing Slow Speeds

Hi, I have two issues, one has just manifested and the other has been ongoing for some time and is one that may cause me to leave Exetel for another provider. To be fair this is the first time I have bought it to Exetel's attention though. First the immediate issue that has just started happening: s...
