Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

I like the 'you pay for what you use' principle. It's about time for Exetel to set plans that are actually economically feasible. Unrealistic plans will not last long. Exetel should focus on reducing operating costs and transfer those savings to customers, but not 'overdo' it so as to make the busin...

Re: Off Peak Period Change

Just want to comment a little bit here. I have been an Exetel customer since 2008 (not very long as compared to many senior members though), and one of the great advantages that keep me recommending Exetel to my friends is your generous 12am-12pm off-peak period. I always laughed at TPG's 4am-9am of...

Re: Increase Of $5.00 Per Month In Your Current Plan Charge

Well i don't know what Exetel will do to my account. Anyway, thinking that perhaps i might just change to the Z/1500 plan if it's gonna be $50 after all. Same price, but doubled the onpeak quota, offpeak data is less but i don't use that much anyway.

Re: Increase Of $5.00 Per Month In Your Current Plan Charge

Emailed both billing and residentialsupport without reply. I'm pretty sure that i haven't received any increase charges email and emails from Exetel never go into spam filters before. This is ridiculous, are they going to assume every Exetel customers will visit the forums and eventually find out a...

Re: Frequent drop out and unstable speed, Toowoomba area

Turned out one of my housemates was leaving her P2P program on unconsciously thus eating most of the upload bandwidth. Problem fixed, and my line is running lightning fast now (ping on google is 29ms) :D

Re: Increase Of $5.00 Per Month In Your Current Plan Charge

I am on TL-BA plan and never received any email notifying increase in charges. Does that mean i will be charged $5 more for nothing starting from April?

Re: Frequent drop out and unstable speed, Toowoomba area

Yes 2db is too low, i keep getting 2~3db attenuation, would that indicate my line is unstable? The situation gets better this few days, let's hope i don't need to lodge a ticket at all.

Frequent drop out and unstable speed, Toowoomba area

I have been experiencing frequent, periodic drop outs lately. I am on 1500/256 plan with Exetel and i recently discovered that my line disconnects almost everyday during the time frame 11.30pm to 12.30am. There's nothing wrong with the DSL line but the Internet simply disconnects. This is getting an...

Re: Multiple Dwelling Unit? Optus? Telstra?

Thanks for the reply Corev. Somehow my land line seems to be connected with Telstra (again). However, when i enter my telephone number (which is the same as the phone number i used for Exetel Naked ADSL2) into the Naked ADSL2 availability checker, the result shows SQ result unavailable at this time ...

Multiple Dwelling Unit? Optus? Telstra?

Hi I know this might not be the right place to ask but i'll try anyway. Does it make a difference if i apply for a land line with Optus or Telstra? I lived in a townhouse last year (is Multiple Dwelling Unit the right name?) and was with Exetel ADSL1 with a Telstra land line. When i checked through ...

Re: Bad SNR and instability of connection question

Hi Thanks for the input. Like you said, newer modems may have better design to stay stable even in an unsound condition. But, i previously stayed at another premise which connects to the Middle Ridge exchange via CMUX system(or something like that), and i didn't have such a problem connecting to Exe...

Bad SNR and instability of connection question

Hi This is an ongoing problem rather than a suddenly happened one. I live in Toowoomba and about 3.5km from Middle Ridge exchange. I have always had the problem of low downstream margin which constantly fluctuates between 0-10db. I know that is bad so i'm asking some questions to see if it can be fi...
